Can somebody recommend similar artists/albums please?
y'know easily accesible emotional stuff that tend to be the token electronic record in an indie fans end of year list.
Not to denigrate it though, it's a pretty great album. Gui Boratto and the Field would be obvious reccomendations. You should probably also check out the other Dial records. Carsten Jost - You Don't Need a Weatherman & Lawrence - the Abscense of Blight are good ones.
Just pretty decent pop techno.
Shake on the other hand is amazing. He's playing in London next week, I can't wait.
It took some restraint for me not to make a statement about Animal Collective-approved dance music when people were gushing about this guy's new single earlier in the week. It's harmless enough. 'This Bliss' is alright. It is not a patch on 'From Here We Go Sublime' though in my opinion.
For sparkly house, I'd recommend you get any Sasha mix.
Animal Collective approved dance music covers a lot of dance music.
by miles and miles and miles and miles and miles...
This Bliss is brilliant, the feild not so much.
my comments weren't meant to be as elitist as that! I just meant there's a definite breed of techno producers that tend to make albums rather than dancefloor orientated tracks and these usually get picked up by Pitchfork and the indie community. Its not necessarily a bad thing, just not so much to my taste.
Also Animal Collective have fucking awesome taste in dance music.
not you. sorry! nothing wrong with what you put at all.
someone has asked for a something like Pantha Du Prince and I've agreed with The Field.
Brightonb - similar to Pantha Du Prince - ie quite tuneful, house beat, doesn't neccessarily do a great deal: Sasha mix. I haven't said it is cutting edge!
I can see how it wouldn't be the kind of recommendation you'd expect to see made on here! Yeah, he is still grinding it out.
Efdemin - s/t
Gui Boratto - Chromaphobia
Stephan Bodzin - Liebe Ist
Anders Ilar - Sworn
Ellen Allien & Apparat - Orchestra of Bubbles
Sascha Funke - Mango
Alex Smoke - Paradolia
Nathan Fake - Drowning in a Sea of Love
took the (words) recommendations right out of my mouth (fingers)
kaito is pretty pretty
there are still lots of good albums - like the ones mentioned..
wow. fair enough. but seriously, they are not all amazing but Orchestra of Bubbles and Paradolia in particular are brill, in my opinion.
You're worse than kiK. The guy asked for artists/albums that have a similar sound to Pantha du Prince. You've come into this thread and added absolutely nothing of value. You've posted some old school Detroit techno album that no-one cares about and the ranted some irrelevant shit about 12" and downloads.
and you're grotesquely ugly and stupid.
Dinky - Anemik
Probably my favorite techno from this year, I can't stop listening to it.
iv heard ceramik (troxler's been playing it a lot) and thats awesomeness.. is it better than ben klocks album? (which is probably my favourite so far this year)
not really comparable to Ben Klock though. It sounds like she's been listening to The Au Harem D'Archimede alot, very similar sound palette and atmosphere.
Ricardo VIllalobos - Alcachofa
is a percy of mine, so is the Fabirc 36 mix cd he did full of his own material, its an album but mixed and its brilliant. Then you'll be into Shackleton in no time haha
where someones curious about dance music makes it funnier or more annoying.
what an awful cunt
