Fantastic records that seem to have fallen under the radar. Copper Blue is especially brilliant.
... but other than that I agree.
Probably as good as New Day Rising/Flip Your Wig.
would both be in my top ten songs ever.
so much so I'm playing them for the first time in months at the moment, cheers for posting! Tilted from Beaster is just pure awesomeness.
I didn't ever buy FUEL, is it comparable? I never liked Beaster as much simply because i couldn't justify playing it when Copper Blue was sitting next to it. Sugar were shit live though, unfortunately.
Although in it's own way it's a good album.
It felt like Bob Mould was finally getting back to where he'd left off with Husker Du.
I loved Beaster too - tilted is one one my favourite Sugar songs.
I suppose it was only natural that I was going to be disappointed by FUEL. If you took it by it's unabbreviated title then it did exactly what it said on the tin, but when "I can't believe what you're saying" started getting played on Terry Wogans show then it was time to pack it in.
Definitely a band who could have a storming "best of..." album.
but Beaster is one of my favourite albums/EPs/whatever ever. Amazing stuff...
well, that and Bubblin' Hot by Pato Banton and Rankin' Roger.
better than the whole of FUEL, and with several tracks to top Copper Blue which came out... what was it? the same month?
