Pulp
Blur
The Universal, Tender
nice choices
Should have said mine is For Tomorrow, btw
Why? Just tell us now
Too many to pick but
my top three would be Out Of Time, No Distance Left To Run and Tender.
No Distance Left To Run or somesuch
But no discussion of Allbran is complete without someone making this very important point:
He's an awful bellend.
SONG 2
CHOOON
Ambulance doesn't get nearly as much love as it deserves
Since No distance left to run is taken
I'll go with the biggies This Is A Low and The Universal are both brilliant
Hmmmm can't pick but would like to agree that he is a fucking amazing songwriter.
Relevant artist tagging - Pulp
?
OH
I see how it works - carry on (PS: I like Noel more)
also
I have contributed to effed up tags. I'll just slink away now...
yes an amazing songwriter
My total favourites probably out of time, to the end, dying isn't easy, feel good inc, this is a low
Battery in your Leg.
and Fried. Though fried isn't great songwriting - it's just a banger.
Yuko and Hiro
Feel Good Inc.
Chemical World
This is a Low
He's a dick, but he does write some great songs.
My favourite of his is Beetlebum.
colin zeal
Its probably not, but i just really like that song!! or many miss america ; )
OVERLOAD, OVERLOAD, OVERLOAD, COMIN UP TO THE OVERLOAD
OH STYLO! what a feckin song! what an album. On Melancholy Hill is another beaut, they all are.
Seriously think Damon Albarn is completely peerless at the moment.
the universal and clint eastwood
I LOVE DAMON ALBARN
Considering the amount of stuff he has put out
its incredibly consistent, Melancholy Hill is amazing off of the new Gorilaz album
I've always loved Sing,
but No Distance Left To Run and Universal would definitely be up there. As would This Is Low.
Too many really, the guy's a genius
hmmmm, where to start
ok.. here seems a good place:
Sing
This is a Low
The Universal
The Good The Bad The Queen
Stylo
Out of time
POPSCENE!
alright
where does this 'he's an absolute bellend' thing come from?
Albarn - Arguably the best British songwriter..........ever!?
Every band he's been involved with has been brilliant and his consistency and knack for knocking out amazing melofies is 2nd to none.
No chance i am picking a favourite but i just came here to doff my hat to the man.
I have to say
in No Distance Left To Run (the DVD) he comes across pretty well. Maybe age has mellowed him a bit.
empire ants of the new gorillaz album
is pretty fucking special
I think it's fair to say that if you're going to be a bit of a dick, you need to be able to back it up with something
...and oh boy can Damon do that. Waaaay too clever.
I wouldn't know where to start but going through each of the projects, let's say For Tomorrow, TGTBATQ and ... well, I think Stylo is my favourite Gorillaz track so far (haven't heard the new album yet).
Not heard the Monkey opera thing either, but still... the more time passes, the more ludicrous it is to think that anyone thought to compare him and Noel Gallagher in the same sentence...
Dying Isn't Easy
