so the festival won't be overrun by V Festival-types. And how many times do we have to say it: The main stage is nearly always full of overblown dullness - it keeps the boring people in one place and there's plenty of other stuff there that's exciting.
they've been asking them for years and years. The whole bill next year is supposed to have alot more big names lower down than they normally would be apparently. Doesn't matter to me either way as I'm not going though.
i'm not going.
floodgates of mediocrity thread
Looking foward to u2. As long as they are sensible are play pre-98 stuff (maybe add in vertigo or elevation) it'l be fine.
but i wasn't. On the years i've been it's (to memory) always been someone i'm not that interested in. maybe white stripes played one year on the friday, but that's it.
than anywhere else. wouldn't be that keen on their own show. I don't know, I've only ever been to glasto once and just didn't enjoy it much. Will they do a stripped back show then or have all the ott set-up?
Ok ok ok. Before you all start. Sure Bono is bloody annoying and their new material isnt great......BUT they are good live. They'll go to town play all the classics - where the streets have no name on the mainstage? It'll piss all over a lot of others like it or not.
But everything since has been utter dogshit and I just be arsed with them. If they were not gonna play anything from the last 3 albums then i would look forward to it but its gonna be full of the city of blinding lights shite.
about climate change at Glasto then he deserves to be pelted with bottles of piss just like Daphne and Celeste. Flying halfway across the world to play one show. Bunch of cunts.
Very, I should imagine.
As others have already pointed out, there'll undoubtedly be some much better stuff on the smaller stages.
Is it wrong to massively prefer U2 to Glastonbury?
no one spends much time at the Pyramid anyway
but most of the festival does, especially for the headliners. Which is why I'm very happy with U2 as it means there will be a lot more space in other parts of the festival
they're on the friday
imo, this is not the headlining slot - that's sat night on the pyramid, so fingers crossed it's radiohead
but, yeah, U2.
U2 have an AMAZING back catalogue. which i hope they'll use in abundance. good call me thinks.
now throw your wee sticks and stones....
to throw wee, sticks AND stones - just wee and stones is adequate. Sticks hardly do any damage anyway
about rolling stone for the sat?
It'll be ace this i bet.
i walked into their gig 5 years ago in Manchester a vaguely curious non fan and walked out a U2 evangelist. Easily the best 'big' gig i've ever seen. And i've seen Prince. Twice.
