can anyone give a brief breakdown of his work?
giving a brief outline of what he's done or actually what it's about.
but i'll give you as much of a rundown as i can physcally give without being repelled.
"Gesang der Jünglinge" is probably his most famous work, his opus if you could call it that, but it's a pretty defining piece of art. it was one of the first musique concrete (or electroacoustic if you want to get picky) pieces to really seamlessly adapt electronic sounds with natural ones. he combines what was 3 main sounds, a boy's soprano voice, sine tones and electronic pulses. as far as reflecting back on his work is confirmed, it's definitely the most interesting in my opinion.
"Kontakte" is probably another of his most celebrated pieces. it's more a piece that reflects extreme spatial awareness. it makes progress from Junglinge. he did however bring the four elements together for pretty much the first time in electronic music i guess.
"Klavierstucke" is just a big collection of piano pieces. They're worth listening to for reference points.
"Kontra-Punkte" and "Momente" are both interesting for me because they're both his most sincere attempts to create texture in a piece.
There are millions of other bits and pieces that he did but i dislike him intensely so i'm sorry that i can't go into further detail.
