I need to know where to start. Thanks, I love you.
Chutes Too Narrow is the most conisistent
Wincing The Night Away is for those who perfer sheen dreamy pop
All good mind, Wincing is underrated
is my favourite, although Oh, Inverted World is great too. I cannot agree with the person above who said that Chutes is the most consistent, it's got a few good songs and loads of filler.
such a shame you feel that way.
with either Oh Inverted World or Chutes Too Narrow. Both brilliant.
in the record shop at the time. They're all great.
Get a load of this guy!
What a ridiculous concept, it will NEVER catch on.
Wincing the Night Away is absolutely brilliant and I cannot understand why it seems to be so disliked.
Oh, Inverted World is the best because it's got New Slang and The Past and Pending on.
Starting with Wincing... if you're in a 'up' kinda mood.
Or Chutes... if you're in a wanna-jump-around-like-a-fool kinda mood.
Or Oh Inverted... if you're into Redhouse Painters/Elliott Smith and in that kinda mood.
Essentially they're the most perfect band, ever. I shall argue this at length, especially when fuelled by booze.
and Chutes Too Narrow is one of my favouritest albums of all time. It indie-rocks throughout, and what more can a human being need?
but I'd definitely recommend starting at the beginning
anywhere. Maybe listen to a few non-single tracks that you haven't heard before on Youtube to see if there's anything that you particularly like. Personally I got Chutes Too Narrow first, but my favourite is Oh, Inverted World. All three are excellent though.
is best by a long LONG way. after that it doesnt really matter, they're all ok. But start with the first one!
is probably my favorite, but they are all pretty consistent.
The first one is the most creatively interesting and has their best songs on it.
The second one is consistently decent.
The third one is polarised between WOW and 'god this is boring'.
Then my friend gave it to me on LP as a Christmas gift. That's the way it's meant to be heard, if you ask me. It sounds much, much better with a little bit of crackle to it.
However, Chutes Too Narrow is BY FAR my favorite album. Have yet to get bored with a single song on it.
