might be the best thing Josh Homme has put his name to since Rated R*
*i haven't heard his JPJ collaboration yet
I'd probably back Lullabies and maybe even Era Vulgaris as being better as well.
i would agree. that album is epic and has trailed off ever since then. humbug is briliant though
it's best songs aren't a patch on those on the previous albums
and the radio gimmick isn't even funny the first time around
are one of those bands where with each album release the quality got steadily worse, the nadir being Era Vulgaris.
Having said that I love them, just not as much as I used to
is musically the best Arctic Monkeys album but is really really boring. Much like their entire back catalogue.
and shits all over Humbug. And Songs For The Deaf is one of this decade's classics. I do really like Humbug but i think you'll find it difficult to find any sane person who agrees with this thread.
which isn't many considering how damn long it is
of course, i'm going against it coming after two utterly stunning albums and humbug coming after two albums i thought were a bit shit
I couldn't disagree with you more. There are maybe three less than magnificent tracks on song for the deaf, tops. Whereas Rated R is as patchy as a students beard.
Though the radio gimmick was utterly pointless and annoying, I'll give you that.
It's all moot though, seeing as their debut is clearly their masterpiece.
