they were awesome on paris on sunday apparently, should be gooood then.
Only seen guapo members play when Sunn and Earth came last year..and Todd played for a about 5 mins. So this is perfect.
have a good one ferdie.
But I didn't, so no. :(
I don't think I've ever seen a Todd performance which wasn't amazing. And never seen Guapo or Eugene with a full band.
And I'm tired as shit from work, so must get pleasantly drunk and enjoy. Grungy Corsica too.
This was it.
You missed it.
Guapo ruled in their NOT AFRAID OF THE TAP Gobliny way. I've seen them a few times and have a couple of albums but have yet to meet anyone who sees them as much more than lots of fun. The bass man looked as if it all meant THE WORLD. But I suspect that might be why I enjoyed it also. They're an awesome live band. Prog Rules.
Todd. Wow. Every time me and my gig going partner see them we wonder how. Just, how? Tonight Mr Todd claimed half way through the set that he'd hurt his arm. I wasn't surprised; I didn't see exactly what he did to it but it looked at one point that he may have piledrivered into the brick wall on the other side of the 2nd room. Sayng this, he was a little more subdued tonight than on other occasions. The rest of the band sounded great though. Incredibly derivative, but incredibly fucking awesome.
Eugene. No, really. Oxbow was immense tonight. I was a little concerned that there was gonna be another "no full band" show at the beginning cos the E. was singing sat on the stage for two songs at the start of the set. No microphone. Acoustic guitar, a little quiet drums, (and some strings?) kinda LB style on the far side of the main room. I couldn't see much more than the singer on the stage - I guess the full band was on the floor? They came onto the stage after this and fucked everyone over. Eugene took his trousers off, you know the rest. They played for about an hour and twenty. It was immense. I'm drunk.
