Anyone been to The Rest Is Noise (Brixton) yet?
We started our night there last week and really like the place plus the staff were lovely. Also having the academy down the road is very handy.
Has anyone else checked it out yet?

Its about a 2 minute walk from my house...
But no... I went to it when it was ivans retreat though.
it's bloody good this night
was rammed when post war years were playing, they've got jonquil coming up, fun times!
What's your night?
I really wanna DJ down there sometime, what with it being ten minutes from my house AND GOOD.
soemwhere good in brixton? impossible.
is it really? i also live very near and could do with somewhere good to go out that doesnt take an hour to get to.
it's basically the amersham
in brixton
Sorta.
It's got a similarly welcoming vibe, but I can feel dangerously out of (fashionable) place there. I think it's the grey hair. That said, the roasts are good.
I only spotted it today
on the bus back from watching BEAK> at Rough Trade. But I liked the title and made a mental note to pop by sometime soon.
Mike, if you do end up DJing there, let me know.
Hi Mike, our night is called Monkeysuit
www.myspace.com/monkeysuitmusic
and we are doing the last Thurs of the month there but not in Dec due to NYE.
You'd be welcome to come down and spin a few tunes if you wished. Just let me know and we can sort something out.
Thanks
Dave
I'd be up for that in the New Year
I'll drop you a line.
going for male bonding next week
TRENDY
the facebook event page for this is hilarious
it actually has a "buses back to east london" bit.
I need to go to (more) gigs in Brixton.
Tempted now Mike's mentioned a roast, too. ROAST vs. MUSIC.
It's roasts and records on a Sunday...
...basically what the Defectors does over Shepherds Bush.
It's alright
You can REALLY tell it's owned by the same people that run the Lock Tavern and the Amersham Arms. IT's got a similar vibe to both of them.
Went last week to see John Maus. It's not that great for bands, the stage is more like a slight step and there's too much pub stuff like tables, steps and chairs in the way if you aren't in the first row or two. At least the Amersham Arms has a seperate room for bands and stuff.
Means as well you can't just pop in for a drink when there's a night going on which is annoying as it sets itself up as a pub. Still it's the best place I've been to in Brixton for a drink but that's really damning with faint praise.
You can REALLY tell it's owned by the same people that run the Lock Tavern
This does not inspire me whatsoever.
you should all ...
