The frontman from Gorki's Zygotic Mynchi, seen him play twice this year and his new album is great. Can download it for free on his website I think.
Not meeting up with the tickets until 8.30. T'will be a mad dash.
Assuming I've finally got rid of the sinusitis that the swine flu->chest infection has now turned into. Couldn't go to see Grizzly Bear last Saturday because of it, and I'm gutted.
Can't fucking wait.
and they came back for a second encore and all. stuff from the new album sounded class
What was the last song befor the encore???
what a tune! if i'm not mistaken he shredded the fuck out of his guitar and had to get a new one to finish the song. Ira is a god
It is now my lifes mission to complete my collection of yo la tengo albums... Incredible... I think I may be in love with Georgia...
i think she's got a boyfriend though..
I think my favourite was big day coming... Possibly...
Some woman approached myself and my mate in the smoking area afterwards to comment on how 'into it' we were....
reading this thread, particularly the bit about blue line swinger makes me sad i can't go to the glasgow show tonight :(
i have to go to a friends birthday party instead. i've had the tickets since june and everything...
i'm sure they'll be back though...
to those who are going, have a good time!
Yo La Tengo are in town.... I would.
fecking friends b'days. Selfish bastard.
so how was it?
although cant get out of work early so going to miss euros :(
Or can anyone tell me what the timings were for previous shows?
Looking forward to tonight!
Tonight at The Roundhouse: Band Of Euros Childs 8pm, YLT 8:50 (doors open at 7)
the times were euros child 8-8.30
and yo la tengo came on at 9 and played for just short of 2 hours.
bloody brilliant gig
Mind you I was slightly put of by the group of clowns stood just in front of me (at the front by right hand speakers). There was this bloke who looked like Jack Duckworth from Corrie. He was jigging away completely oblivious to the timing of the music and kept turning round to see if any of us were going to join him. His mate clapped loudly with every key change, and especially during the quieter, more subtle bits of the songs. It was actually quite hilarious at times.
£10, erm well message me, I'm going to the Jack Rose gig tonight instead and I live in Holloway, so if we can sort meeting up between there (camden/roundhouse) and here (round holloway road) that be great.
