What: DrownedinSound.com will celebrate 9 years of championing new, innovative and/or independent music with a shindig of exceptional bands and DiS DJs at the In the City music conference and YOU are invited.

When: 19th of October 2009 (not sure of the exact door times as yet)

Who: Frightened Rabbit, Clues, Munch Munch and Esben and the Witch.

Where: The Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester, M1 7HE

In a related question.

does anyone know any cheap hotels or hostels near the deaf instituate we could stay, hotels we have found are a little steep so far, hoping for a bargain! thanks

Can anyone clarify the 'ticket' arrangements

I bought a wristband from Seatwave, and then got several emails saying that they were concerned 'tickets' have not been sent out, but that they are on the case. Then silence.....

I'm presuming that i take proof of purchase to [wherever it is]* and get my wristband.

1) Is this true?
2) Does the same apply for people buying tickets just for this event?

  I've bought tickets just for this show, rather than a wristband.
  
  I got an email earlier which said I had to go to the midland hotel beforehand to pick up a wristband(?).
  
  Do I have to do that, or can I turn up on the day with proof of my order, etc etc? Because I'm probably not going to have chance to collect the before the collection place closes at 7. Any ideas?

  Please remember to bring the following with you to collect:
  Any form of photo identification, such as a drivers licence or passport.
  A copy of your order confirmation email.
  
  Where can I collect my wristband(s) and when?
  
  Collection will be at the:
  Midland Hotel, 16 Peter Street, Manchester, M60 2DS
  Enter the hotel via the main entrance on Peter Street and head to the In The City information booth.
  
  Opening hours:
  Saturday 14h00-19h00
  Sunday - Tuesday 10h00 - 19h00
  
  but I can't help in respect of single event tickets

        "Nobody that has bought anything will not get in. All they need
        is their name (and I.D as a backup would be recommended). Midland for
        wristbands, venue door for shows - easy!"
        
        So: if you have a ticket for the DiS show, come to The Deaf Institute on the night with your name and ID.
        
        If you have a weekend wristband, head to the Midland hotel.

  All the bands were brilliant, but special, big props to Esben & The Witch for playing sans-drum machine and still being fucking awesome.
