whipping off Bone Machine, U-Mass and Gigantic in the second encore was something else.
amazing amazing amazing.
second encore exceptional - first outing for Gigantic as far as I can see. Sound also surprisingly great for Brixton. Imagine Friday night is going to be something else.
Brixton makes me a sweaty bastard though, properly reliving being 13/14 and going there every other month for the rising stars of the mainstream indie circuit.
can't bloody wait. didn't realise they were doing non-Doolittle songs in the encore, thought it was just b-sides.
start the set, and continue in the encore.
after that they came back and it was pretty much anything up for grabs.
Kim looked very happy.
processed guitars, perfectly done, I don't hate it but none of the tunes of JAMC or MBV.
they didnt play that one in glasgow SO JEALOUS
you got a massive second encore.
great visuals too - complementing but not distracting.
cut down version of Un Chien Andalou was shown before the band actually came on. A lot of squeamish faces at the "slicing up eyeball..." shot.
Went to all the shows at Brixton last time around and it compared well. Could have done with a bit more volume maybe in places. Silver was beautiful. I can't stand U-Mass but Into The White and Gigantic made up for that. Place was like a sauna. Bring on Friday! Hopefully we'll get Holiday Song.
I missed silver. :(

when did it finish? i'm moderately concerned about the trek back to north london if it's post-tubes..
They start the film at 9pm...and the band came on about 9.10pm.
loved the stage set and visuals - it really added a lot to the show. the band themselves were typically superb, and the atmosphere was brilliant too. the pixies seem to inspire such rapturous, crowd singing moments - i was struck by this in 2004 as well. really good sound in there. as much as the crowd were very vocal, the band totally cut through it. had a decent spot with a bit of space, too. can't fault it. did anyone else buy a recording of one of this week's shows? i paid a tenner for a download of last night (thursday), which should be available in a few days, apparently. nice 320kbps files. if anyone's got any of the other nights, i'd be up for trading.
They could have warned us.
Super long shot but if anyone has a spare for tonight, then do send us a PM! Cheers.
I don't like it when people do this.
