as is Dizzee Rascal, just in case we hadn't heard him barking over a backing tape enough this summer
thats happening gain
it was horrible though, lots of rubish spanish guitar and scating. Now the editors are doing some dodgey synth thing... I wana see Gang of Four but do I really have to go thruogh all of this!
this is the big problem with indie music nowadays.. there's just no interest in groove whatsoever.
we kept it grey
to sort them out, but your right there needs to be more grooves in general.
when you let people who can't play their instruments properly form bands
being in a group all at once... you can get away with making loads of noise and that with a guitar but you need a tight rhythm section to back it up. But then I would say that I'll happliy listen to tracks with just basslines and drums all week.
just a coldly detached thing that's separate from the main song. I like the rhythm section to drive the song and be played with a bit of sensitivity to what's going on. And it's gotta swing.. looseness is much better than the stuck rigidity of toss like Editors
it does seem like alot of bands have just made it a backing track that has to be their because they're a band rather than part of the actual songs. Just groove you utter bastards!
its like the rug rats version of Zack De La Rocha
and i was mugged and so i want to fight him, and he's rich so i could then nick his money and hurt him and then justice would be served
:D :D :D :D
( i corected one then, in this post
I hope you feel ok this morning :D
Oh and I saw Gang of Four live at the weekend, they were ace, even my girlfriend loved them. Yay!
Gang of Four - Irrelevant and a bit odd.
Editors - Did he actually say 'It kicks like asleep twitch'? Jesus wept thats the most banel thing I heard since Lily Allens last single.
albeit gang of four minus two plus two session musicians, imo were the best thing on last night. Theres nothing better than middle aged men behaving badly playing irrelevant music. Plus the guitar on damaged goods still sounds fucking amazing
with 'real musicians, man' to appeal to the predominantly white BBC2 Jools Holland audience for market penetration purposes. Playing the game etc., but they were totally pony while the original versions are great. Ho hum.
Editors..shit the bed. Who the fuck actually sings like that?! He was barely able to project his voice. It sounded like he was trying to swallow his own neck. I see they've decided to go down the sixth-form Sisters Of Mercy covers band route for the new album. Best of luck with that.
They might not be quite so painfully boring.
I liked the daft slide guitar version of "Bonkers". I was laughing the whole time, and I suspect that might have been the idea. I can imagine Dizzee just going "Fuck it man, let's get a band together"
It was quite funny, and at least we all now know what a hybrid of MTV Unplugged as taken over by Roll Deep would be like. I was just hoping for a really plastic-y, in-your-face rendition of Bonkers to see what Kermit would say afterwards.
Editors though. Jeepers. Definitely not contrived in any way. Not at all.
