sorry jamie, its on the brooklyn vegan site-----www.brooklynvegan.com
I was singing "....you've been humming in a haze forever, praying for Pavement to get back together...." on my walk home tonight. You can all thank me.
I guess I'd better sort out those ATP tickets then, before they sell out.
I can promise you that much
I hope its like the transfer window's 'reliable sources'.
"My uncle drives a taxi in Manhattan, and last night the former drummer from Pavement's son got in the cab and started talking on his cellphone to a friend about someone called Stephen's musical project..."
Commercially I mean.
They were and still are my favourite band ever but I knew so few people who actually got them that I've never had a handle on the levels of their success/popularity.
It's certainly not going to be the money spinner that the Pixies reformation was.
though that's more because I was at the last ever gig and I want it to stay as their last for purely selfish reasons.
Throbbing Gristle reforming was the best thing to happen this decade.
Plus Mission of Burma have put out some brilliant stuff (as good as the original LP & EP certainly) since going back together.
about Pavement reforming for Coachella/ATP:NY 2009? Not saying it's not true but I'm a little sceptical.
LIVE FOR THE THEN!
I purchased only a few months ago.
actually, did they even split up in the first place?
jim morrison looks a bit skinny but yay all the same!
ok, if/when they reform how "big" are they going to be? Are they five nights at the Roundhouse...?
... I don't have a problem with reunions. This year I have seen Magazine, The Jesus Lizard, Devo, Artery, Sleep who all have reformed in some way and have all been brilliant. Also Blur were pretty good and enjoyable. My Bloody Valentine were also amazing every time I saw them last year. Admittedly reunions have the potential to go disastrously wrong (Smashing Pumpkins...) but I reckon Pavement would be a good one.
nothing else will come close.
I don't see a need personally.
That might be because I've already seen them about 6 or 7 times though.
Any "reunions suck" ideas I had were ousted with the last two Dino Jr. albums and when I saw Dino Live this year.
This is fucking amazing
