Not really sure where to start or what sound modules are good/bad. Cheers.
an M-audio midi controller from Dolphin Music. Its been reduced to £59.99 and it works a treat. I run it to control various soft-synths on ableton, works for me
ie. alesis micron. It isnt usb thou so you'd still need a midi interface to hook up to your pc. However its a live synth with its own sound module but also a controller keyboard
if that makes sense.
need nothing else
It has some nice sounds, and you can program your own templates for any external module.
the sounds are not "quality" sounds, nor analog sounding, but then it depends what you're looking for.
the construction is really bad though, hence the price.
if you are geting a software synth i would advise getting a good sound card also and make sure there is a firewire capabilitys, latency can screw you a bit.m-audio is a good choice though, faders are usually standard and pads. all you need really, midi mapping on ableton with m-audio is very easy also.
it;s usb but the way it is designed there is minimum latency
For all this very useful info! :)
