Just been sent an email saying she's playing her on the 5th December.
She has all of ONE album's worth of material.
I would only pay £20+ to see a band I really loved with at least 3 or 4 albums under their belts.
Please please please please play ATP
Where is she playing?
I think I'll probably pass. But bodes well for her playing ATP.
I also noticed that Iggy Pop is playing 'Raw Power' for ATP:Don't look back the same weekend that the May ATP usually is.
Hmmm.... I wonder?
The Forum is a soulless hell hole.
But somehow I think it's unlikely, especially as they are playing seven days in a row already. Would be nice addition though. As I'll be going to ATP that weekend makes my decision of whether to go to the Forum gig much much easier, ie no decision to be made
And their live show is amazing.
maybe €20 or so.
ye should live in Ireland, 20 quid is CHEAP for a gig
good but not that good
Go, you won't regret it.
and judging by the Knife's touring history she won't be doing this that often. That said, I'm very happy I managed to see her and Royksopp for just £20.
If they renamed it the Rough Trade Forum would it make you happier?
I tend to agree though, £20+ is excessive. But most gigs are £10+ nowadays alas.
though is it. The cheapest it will possibly be with booking fees is £25.00.
That is ridiclous IMO, for a forum gig with an artist with one album. I would be very surprised if it sold out at all.
given vinyl albums tend to be a lot more expensive than CD versions.
anymore and I'd be struggling to justify it. Then again, I tend to buy all my music, so maybe I'm just one of those people.
and thoroughly enjoyed the live show.
basically if you have the money go for it. it's only money and if you have it you may as well spend it, right?
for the Shepherds Bush gig a couple of months ago.
Completely worth every penny. It's an utterly brilliant live show. I'm going again!
I wouldn't pay £2.50 to see Fever Ray live.
But that's because I found The Knife incredibly dull live, and that album intolerable.
Shame really, 'cos The Knife's music is quite good.
Everyone seemed to love them except me. I'm not trying to be indie here; I was so fucking bored that I walked out.
The albums alot heavier, a lot more bassy and the album as a whole really deserves to be played through a good sound system. I love the album as well, but it doesn't have as much staying power as I hoped.
They put a lot of effort into the costumes, sets and lighting live that makes it really interesting.
It was an amazing lazer show, probably the greatest lazers. I said above the albums heavier/bassier, I meant the live show.
I personally wouldn't pay 22.50 again, but I paid around 18.00 or so and it was one of my favourite hours of live music ever. Well worth the money in my eyes.
but I've got Harmon Kardon soundsticks which are infamous for great bass. And it's still dull.
Different kicks for different folk I suppose.
for me too, absolutely brilliant show. go see.
how much would you spend? just curious.
i live in Ireland, gig prices are crazy over here. Tom Waits charged 120 euro last year. my favourite band, Sonic Youth are charging 40 quid later in the year. i'm not happy about the price, but i'm still gonna go cos they haven't done a headline gig here for years. you can't put a price on a good time, really. i've often had expensive nights out that leave me with nothing but a pounding hangover and a load of regret. what's the point of working and earning money if you're not going to spend it?
have you seen recently that cost less than £6.99??
Though I loved her when I saw her at a festival, I think 22.50 is quite expensive for a band with just one album. Then again, The Dead Weather asks about 30.
Definitely. Ordered my tickets. They put on an awesome show at Latitude.
And according to their website, this is the final show on their final tour.
So you either see them now, or you see them never.
i'd have to concur, they were simply brilliant at Latitude. really heavy, bassy sound. the costumes and lazers may be a gimmick but they add something to the show imo.
but that's quite a lot of money.
