Maximo Park's debut has to be up there. classic album
but I cannot find fault with your logic. It'll be in my top 10.
I'm not saying its not a good album - at least five or six absolute corkers on it, but one of the albums of the decade? Hmmmm.
I'd actually say Futureheads' debut was better, if we're talking post-punk scamps from the north-east region
i get wet.
is most definitely not a classic
it's a collection of 24carat singles as good as any released in the past ten years.
Futureheads is on a par, if not a bit better.
did absolutely nothing which is a shame because I think it's brilliant. Top live band too but yeah both Futureheads and Maximo Park's debuts are quality Carnival Kids is an amazing tune
A certain trigger is better than the futureheads debut though
it's definitely more instant. Futureheads with a couple of tracks cut out would help but it would probably lose a lot of what makes it great
with a bit of the fat cut out of Futureheads' debut it would be even better.
But I dunno, they kind of make you work for it.
one of the most disappointingly unexciting albums ive ever bought. I absolutely adored the coast is always changing 7" when that came out, then the album came along and was so duuulll. So in conclusion, no.
but one of them. top 20 at least
are downright embarrassing. The singer is like a Steve Coogan character of a singer, he reminds me of Gareth Cheeseman.
and it's ok but Acrobat (I think that's the one) might be one of the worst songs I have encountered.
that's probably the one thing that keeps it off my lists of best albums I think. There are some really lovely singles off it though. Some of the tracks do start to sound the same for me but that's something you could level at tons of bands.
