was suprised at how well it still stands up as a great record.
I mean, pop-punk is a genre I listen to a lot but I find it hard to distinguish whether something looks/seems good and worthwhile to listen to when I see it on the net, or just the usual Fall Out Boy/Metrostation shite.
then you need to BURN YOUR EARS.
think they 'epitomise' it, but there is obviously a lot of people who associate pop-punk with this type of band and I don't want that.
Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. I used to think the album cover was dead brilliant although it really isn't.
New Found Glory - s/t
Dillinger Four - Midwestern Songs of the Americas/Versus God/Civil War (or get everything they've released because they're the best punk band EVER
I'll shout out for the Only Ones. First album is obviously the "essential" one, but you might as well spend the extra couple of quid and get the two-disc set that includes all three albums.
And then Bleed American.
Milo Goes To College
All Wrapped Up (Undertones, it's a double LP of all their singles and b sides and I bought it in Oxfam for a fiver)
will always hold a soft spot for me
Good call on Dillinger Four. I fucking loved those guys back in the day.
Dude Ranch was Blink's best record. Oh Josie...
