DiS presents: HEALTH @ The Harley, Sheffield (05.10.09)
My word this is an exciting gig. Nice words from Mr Kharas in the NME today - 8/10 for Get Color.

"LA’s premier ear-splitters: the purveyors of strangely dancable grind-core... The Future of Noise!" (NME)
"Their music is alive with dissonance, but equally enthralled by elegance and experimentation; it is vivid, striking, absolutely brilliant to dance to" (BBC)
"HEALTH’s debut is a brilliant, brutal, fine-tuned dollop of hardcore noise... The band also have a great nose for drama... Seriously impressive" (Uncut)

HEALTH
Looking forward to the Norwich show of this.
Poster
http://bit.ly/health_shef
who did the poster?
it's very pretty.
not me, that's for sure
a girl called Laura. she's pretty awesome.
This is the nearest show to me
so probably going to road trip it.
What time are they likely to be playing? Last time I saw them they didn't start til 11.30 or so.
11.30pm...
... is the live curfew at The Harley, so they'll be done before then. We're aiming to have live proceedings finished by 11pm from now on to allow people to get their buses/trains/early nights etc.
'Die Slow' video:

So how many DiSsers are coming over for this?
It's going to be BRILLIANT.
I will be there...
Oh yes.
they're
at the Brudenell, Leeds afew days after Sheff, I'm looking forward to it. Their t-shirts are wicked too.
8/10 from Lukowski too

General consensus: great album, great band
maybe.
it can be my celebrating being back in sheffield gig. perhaps.
do it!
Sheffield = good.
this could be cool
but living in York, i'm more likely to go to the Leeds show the day after, unless you can convince me otherwise.
Ok...
It's the smallest venue on the tour? Intimate = good. And it's DiS' birthday month; we're planning some special celebratory type stuff for the night. And there'll be loads of Sheffield DiSsers there. What more could you want?
And...
Two ace local supports:

http://www.myspace.com/pygmyglobetrotters
oooh Forest Creature are good
you're doing a good job. And I haven't even been to The Harley (or out in Sheffield for that matter).
Hmmmm... I'm coming round to the idea!
In that case, you've got no excuses
Come and sample the Sheffield experience. We've got a lovely train station, too. Get on a tram outside and it takes you straight to the venue for, like, a quid.
i have experienced the wonders
of both your train station and trams. iLiKETRaMS.
So it won't be a case of inaugural trams...
... But you can never have too many tram journeys. It's not called the SUPERtram for nothing, that's for sure.
Getting involved with this gig, then?
I will be there
It's going to be special
I will also be there
probably as part of the Small Ideas DJ contingent :) It is going to be amazing.
Only one week to go now, pretty darn excited!
I'm coming!
The gigs are finishing earlier now? Amazing. Does this include JoFo?
That's the idea, yes
They are playing Optimo this Sunday as well
right after The Pixies gig. smileyface
saw them in Dublin tonight.
they were awesome.
this makes me even more excited
more details plz
PS.
Last thirty or so WeGotTickets tix (cheapest) here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/54390
lost for words, really
just hypnotic, exhilirating noise...
Rob, when approximately will the first band be on?
They'll be on by 8.30pm
See you there?
Definitely, and I'll be early
The Harley has had some brilliant gigs this week i was there the last two nights.
Wednesday and Thursday?
I was otherwise engaged, but yes. It's a good month for them. I think Monday could be up there with the SVIIB/Danana... shows. I'm excited.
TOMORROW!
Whogottickets? WeGotTickets: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/54390

Ace video Martin!
What a gig this was. They were awesome.
All Thanks for putting on such a brilliant show
(I had to really force myself to stop moving while I took that -I love that song).
all the bands were excellent
... but Pictureplane just blew me away
His remix of Die Slow is genius.
that's a great video.
brought it all back
Some great photos from Gary of this show!
