I mean seriously?
.. though i can't be bothered to find it.. Don;t think a generaly opinion was found.
and the answer is about 15 years ago. For me personally anyway, which corroborates fiddygents above post.
What's going on?!
we were once bounded by our love for ryan adams. but seemingly no more. i want out, you have the kids, i want the house.
Despite how it looks, I'm not having a go - honest. It's just that it'd be nice if you told us about something you actually like/don't think is shit for a change!! Start another Ryan thread if you have to ;-)
because you thought that was shit, didn't you?
bar three/four songs is shit though isnt it?! that isnt being negative that is fact!
...it's grown on me recently
i still find it a bit dull.
although fix it, cobwebs and crossed out name are brilliant songs.
talk is of a whiskeytown reunion? i'm unsure how i feel about that, it just seems a little bit of the safe option. i'd rather he went solo again and pushed the boundaries.
He's clean, happily married and seemingly in a pretty good mental state (the stuff he's been writing on the RAA forums recently has been incredibly coherent, for him). All great, of course, but rarely condusive to creating works of genius. I really hope I'm wrong. Having said all that, I'll be happy if he churns out something as decent as Cardinology once every couple of years and keeps touring.
maybe it's because i had to witness bloc party live at the leeds festival at the weekend havent i? jesus there i go again!
positives on the music scene at the moment for me?
radiohead in general
pearl jam being massive in manchester a few weeks back
sigur ros recording a new album
and fu manchu randomly coming on my ipod
anyone who thinks it is the age of the reader rather than then NME itself should search the pre 2001 best of year lists, it geniunely used to be good
So all this talk about it is utterly bewildering.
And that was the John Peel special edition after his death. It's news is out of date due to the net, it's features are with wankers and it's reviews are pish and never even mention the music supposedly being reviewed.
Had the best childish headline I ever recall though. About 1995 the Levellers put out an album called Zeitgeist which was a bag of sacks. Think they gave it 2/10 and had the headline "Shitegeist" over the review. Typically childlish but tickles me to this day for some reason....
