oh, that's a REALLY useful invention
The album's on Spotify. And yes, they are. And, rightly or wrongly, I just say The Ex Ex.
and Basic Space is pretty cool to, I've not heard the rest but the album is on its was and I've got my fingers crossed it has more good tracks on it.
two 8/10 songs, mostly 6/10 songs. 7/10 album. same as that wild beasts album was.
(bar the tens) by 1, or maybe only by 0.5
its seriously amazing, I really didn't think I'd appreciate this sort of thing, but this album has hit me more than any other album this year. Listen to it and then listen to it a ton more times.
Crystalised is an amazing track
emphatically, yes. I wasn't really sure at first, but I thought I'd take a chance and buy the album (not something I do very often, spending full price on a new release, especially with bands I know little to nothing about). It hasn't left my stereo this week, and will probably stay there for a couple more at the very least.
I'm not listening to them until someone clarifies.
'The ex-ex' or 'The twenty' - answers on a postcard please!
yeah i heard it and i like it.
when we having our dancenightfun?
honestly it's gonna be huge. everyone's waiting for some massive night in leeds and i'm gonna provide it. woo!
and I think they're great aside from 'Crystalised' and 'Basic Space' 'Shelter' is also an tune although I wish it didn't fade out at the end.
It's been awhile since I heard a band that's so...uncluttered. All the melodies are fucking flawless and it's quite relaxing.
and have to agree with the positive comments. Really quite sublime. Absolutely love how his voice comes in.
Gonna get it next week for sure.
I got a little obsessed with it, but I think i'm coming out the other side now. It's a really nice album with some cracking choons. thumbs up.
But some one give me a free T-shirt with a giant x on it so i like em.
They were pretty dull live sadly :(
except the drummer man who just mucked around with a cymbal and an mpc and was thus fun to watch
does anyone know if there is a vinyl version with free MP3 download? im really into those records at the moment. If there is ill probably buy that. Really like their song 'vcr'
Does anyone know where the guitar riff in Heart Skipped a Beat is 'borrowed' from? (it's really prominent around the 3-minute mark).
It sounds like The Cure / New Order (natch) and I'm sure it's really obvious, I just can't place it.
Re. Heart Skipped a Beat: the guitar sound is very Cure (part 17 Seconds/Faith, part Disintegration), but on the quick re-listen I just gave it, the melody line itself doesn't recall anything specific from them.
It's driving me mad.
if you like overcrowded Brit teeth contributing to the demise of the vocals. That's why their vocals are so "unique." Wait, more than half Brit bands sing like that due to their unfortunate teeth rot. God bless you folks for trying. focking riggght.
let's celebrate mediocrity!
