Just ordered this... anyone a fan?
its really dark and sounds a little bit old school in places but its damn good. I like 9 Samurai alot and if you find the 12" of it there is an insane remix of it by Quarta 330, which has some truly disturbing frequencies in it.
Though I find Spaceape grates after a while. Does anyone know what he's on about?
they really messed about with his voice on this one pitched it all over the place to get a mad atmosphere to it.
and Spaceape are the two best things about it. I find the album goes on too long and doesn't hold together too well. The good songs are REALLY good though.
Kode9 & the Spaceape: "Time Patrol [ft. Cha Cha]"
its been around for ages as an official video but its coming out now with estra cha cha.
Kode9 & the Spaceape: "Ghost Town"
I thought kode was taking the piss when he said he has The Specials on his hyperdub comp but turns out this is a specials remix... maybe... we will have to see...
Kode9 & the Spaceape: "Fukkaz"
new Burial on there too, I'm far to excited...
I think that was the first dubstep album that I bought, I really like it :D
After getting Burial's first. It took a while to get into but it's great - 9 Samuari is an amazing track as well. If you like the Spaceape (bit of an acquired taste I admit) Kode9's Dubstep Allstars is AWESOME too.
seriously amazing, and so underrated - everyone always does nuts for Burial and completely overlooks this album.
got it with dusk and blackdown's margins music a few weeks ago and much prefer memories of...
'what spaceape is on about'- do you mean you don't understand the words, or the meaning? i'm probably not making sense. i understand the words mostly, but often not the meaning.
sometimes words but more often meanings, something doomy most of the time I reckon though.
I've gota be in the mood for this album but when I am its a classic.
I really like Margins Music still, they're on Rinse right now playing some amazing stuff that sounds like rolling halfstep deep minimal techno with a hint of dubstep and funky to it.
i didn't know pearson sound is ramadanman before- talented dude, eh?
nice one for the rinse tip, might have to get over there.
he was keeping it secrete for ages but then he was also the only one playing the beats on his radio show for ages too, oh and he had a seperate account on dubstepforum for PS hahah. But when the first records came it had his name on it and he had told people in interviews anyway. He's mixing on Mary Anne Hobbs soon under the Pearson Sound name, I think its the first pearson mix. I wanted to try and get him to do a rama vs pearson mix for SR but hes a busey dude.
