Anyone excited? Hell yeah!
but I'm in bed with the flu :-( Rival Schools supporting as well. Absolutely gutted.
But I will see them both this weekend :-D
Was wondering who the support was going to be. This is going to be fun.
Anyone got a spare they're willing to part with?
I'm going to contact HMV tickets and see if my two guestlist places are transferrable. Not promising anything, but it's worth a shot...
and back to school kicked right out the door
I thought it was a good set although they seemed to tire the crowd out about halfway through by starting heavily with material from Around The Fur.
Despite my enjoyment I did think the sound wasn't all that.
real muddy when it should fly
in big venues the bassy sound just reverberates off all the soft flesh. Don't matter to me, when I saw them I relished the sludge.
They go lower than that too sometimes, but you're right it's really sludgey.
Can't wait to see Jesu in October, he tunes down to A. Yes, A.
First of all big shout to spiritofjazz for being so kind to hook me up with a ticket.
I got there for the last 20 mins or so of Rival Schools, loved them. Wish I'd seen a bit more but unfortunately the lengthy queuing outside prevented this.
Deftones came on about 8.50 or so and kicked straight into Feiticeira which blew the roof off the place, I always forget how good their guitars sound. I agree with the last post about the sound, I think the drums were pretty low in the mix or everything else too loud... not sure. Anyway, really enjoyable show, the replacement bass player looked like he was having the time of his life and Chino did seem genuinely overwhelmed by the positive crowd.
Good night overall, lots of NIN: Wave Goodbye shirts in the audience.
...lots of hot rock chicks everywhere, aooowwww!
Where do these girls go during the day? I have never really met any girls who liked Deftones or NiN yet they were everywhere last night.
Maybe we should start a thread about this.
When I saw NIN at the O2 it was absolutely heaving with women. I was with my missus though so had to do the old 'covert perving'.
Being all hot and that.
still sounds amazing and reconfirming it's place in my High Fidelity-esque All Time Top Ten Albums Ever
