but it sounds like Editors. unmistakeably.
thanks for the heads up
Editors for ATP?
but it's certainly not ridiculous. i suggest you listen to the two bands' most recent albums again
comparison : fail
a bit like richard hawley in parts, but not editors
open your ears, seriously
what you're basically saying is equivalent to: 'you hear that white lies band? what an editors ripoff!'; it demonstrates a lack of scope for comparison in your musical knowledge. even though you obviously just made the thread to get a rise out of people.
i'm not trolling. there's one song in particular that sounds exactly like a missing track from 'end has a start'. i'm not in the business of getting a rise out of people. as i said, i want to love the album, but it bothers me that they've kind of become a bit...what's the word? editors-y
THAT would be a lack of musical knowledge. i'm saying they sound like editors, whether or not they're going to a similar source of influence
no, i want to like them but their sound has become more than a bit similar to a band that kind of embody all the values i currently despise in music.
They sound like Talk Talk with vocals by Paul Draper from Mansun doing a Liza Minelli drag act and a more workmanlike Guy Garvey.
It's good though!
you either like them or you don't. Why would you want to like them?
still very much a shrug of the shoulders with accompanying 'meh'..
like everyone in that list? are you for real?
most indie of that kind of ilk melts into one big bland blob for me
esp on the title track. definitely the weakest moments of the record
definitely a 7/10 record tho. some moments of outstanding tuneage, some weak pap
whereas it's the opposite for me for the first album, with the exception of devil's crayon.
haven't tried again, seems a bit risky.
Really really do not hear Editors in this record at all. There's none of those strident single guitar line riffs it's all a lot more gentle, arpeggios and, really, a lot more textured. I can't see Editors putting in those one note feedback whines on When I'm Sleepy in any of their songs, for instance.
and while i really like the music the vocals bug the shit out of me.
for me it's the vocals that really make the band. They wouldn't be half as interesting without them. Of course, I can perfectly understand why they would annoy people, but I love them.
Well there you go then.
and I think that they suck balls. Literally, and figuratively.
