is anyone else as excited about this as me? Never been to The Troxy before but it looks like a really cool venue.
unfortunately it looks very sold out at the moment, think the Troxy is quite small (have not been there either) and/or Wilco are very much in demand at the moment. Wondering how their Green Man show went last night...
A good mix of old and new stuff. It seemed to take them a few tracks to get into it, but once they did it really flew by.
Sunday night in that amphitheatre setting with the mountains behind, I was very tempted to go back to Green Man this year... more reports please :-)
Still not seen them live, I will one day though !
See you down the back
I have one spare, face value (£25). Any takers?
Really want to go to this Troxy gig. I may have that tkt off you joshhall!
in november in london too, got a ticket
Saw them at Shep Bush Empire a couple of years ago and it was one of the best shows ever.
anyone know who is supporting?
are the support.
Blitzen Trapper at 8, Wilco at 9. Though the Troxy does tend to run a little late.
It is a really nice venue, except for the wonky air conditioning that makes it way sweaty. But good sound, good sightlines (hello Koko); quite chilled.
Doors 7:00pm, Blitzen 7:30-8:00 pm, Wilco 8:30-10:30 pm, Curfew 11:00 pm according to Troxy twitter.
tiered stalls area = good view. decor on the slightly cheesier side of art deco.
10/10 show. birthday cake(s), confetti, not a dull moment (2 hours flew by). wished more people would move/dance a bit during the Summerteeth songs though.
they arguably have one of the best drummer and guitarist to make them an amazing live band.
What Summerteeth ones did they play?
can't stand it
nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again) <- fantastic song that i don't think gets played live too often.
more than made up for the fact they cancelled their last london gig.
Wilco (The Song)
I am Trying to Break your Heart
Company in my Back
Bull Black Nova
You Are My Face
A Shot in the Arm
You Never Know
Can't Stand It
Hate it Here
I'm the Man who Loves You
At Least That's What You Said
Forget the Flowers
Heavy Metal Drummer
I'm a Wheel
Saw them at Green Man and they were exceptional, but only played for just over an hour. Off to see them in Belgium & London in November though - can't wait!
My favourite guitarist out there. Impossible Germany was like a rollercoaster.
i'm not keen on the venue. The building is nice but the interior is coloured like a cheap hotel. Sound was ok, needs air con.
Perhaps they could have shaved 20 mins off as I was starting to clock watch around Spiders.
Agree with comments above about air con. It was sweltering down the front...some deodorant dodgers stunk the place out.
