Pearl Jam at the O2 last night
Anyone else go? Unbefuckinlievable. They played a marathon 2.5 hour, double encore enormo-set of killer tune after killer tune after killer tune. I've been to some arena/stadium gigs in my time, but I've NEVER witnessed an atmosphere like that in a venue of that size before. Not Springsteen, not Oasis, not Metallica...none of 'em.
not even Oasis!!
Unbefuckinlievable
Truefacts!!
I knew you'd get in there first....
Spot on.
Amazing show. After last seeing them at Wembley in 2007 and being very dissapointed by the whole experience, I was completely blown away last night.
How did it compare to Shepherd's Bush?
....and I knew you'd get in there next ;-)
Can't really compare the two. For a fanboy like me, Shepherds Bush will never be beaten for obvious reasons, but the setlist last night was a bit stronger I thought. I've now gone five shows without hearing Rearviewmirror though :-(
Shepherd's Bush is looking like my gig of the year
Even with the overly vocal crowd.
Did they play any more stuff off the new one?
One more
'Supersonic'. Sounded pretty average if I'm honest - had some really generic lyrics that sounded quite cringeworthy. Musically it was quite Ramones-y - like a faster version of 'Mankind'.
BTW
If you're interested, there's an amazing fan bootleg of the Shepherds Bush gig already online. It's not one of those officially released bootlegs - apparently some fan managed to sneak in about £2000 worth of recording equipment!
I've seen it mentioned on the Tenclub boards
and now I've had a look and found it. Ta!

It owned Shepherd's Bush
I thought.
Good to hear.
I preferred Smashing Pumpkins back in the day, but after seeing 'them' a couple of years back and it being appaling (i.e. Billy + randoms), and the way that PJ have carried on releasing decent stuff, and Nirvana being out of the picture, I can see how PJ might well clean up completely on the back of a/the grunge revival.
