usually would look forward to this but the red album was pure shite in my opinion. I dont hold much hope, especially from the new songs I heard live. I hope I'm wrong though
Must we keep flogging the dead horse of pop-punk? As musicians we should aspire to something more...Rivers...shut up.
Weezer aren't pop punk either.
The new album will proably have a couple of gems on it, which is fine by me. A good Weezer song beats most things e.g. The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
he can obviously shread, and on pinkerton atleast theres some great overlapping and interlocking melodies its deceptively simple or should that be deceptively complex dunno
Which one is the best place to start?
And then Pinkerton. And, if you like them a lot, get Maladroit. Avoid the rest.
if you get as far as Maladroit then 'Green' is also worth a punt. Download the 2-3 good songs on 'Red', sure, but then STOP RIGHT THERE! Do not, under ANY circumstances, go near Make Believe.
I always quite liked This Is Such A Pity, Peace, and The Other Way off Make Believe
Yeah, I like. But that's definitely as far as Acquiescence should go! BTW, Acquiesence - try and get your hands on the Deluxe Edition of 'Blue' if you can. It comes with a great second disc of b-sides and rarities from that period.
But both are crap, don't get me wrong. But This Is Such A Pity is quite good as is the music to Peace/Other Way, like the guy above says. Red has no redeeming qualities.
Red > Make Believe any day of the week IMO. Make Believe is an utter abomination of a record. Red has Troublemaker, The Greatest Man, Pork and Beans, Dreamin', and Miss Sweeney (on the deluxe edition). Not Weezer classics by any stretch, but they shit on anything from MB (barring 'TISAP') from a great height. But yeah, I guess we can agree that the gap in quality between Blue/Pinkerton and MB/Red is thoroughly depressing :-(
Those are the finest Make Believe has to offer.
Thanks a bunch. Blue is my favourite colour, I consider that a sign.
