http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Tomorrow's_Parties_Festival_lineups looking through the line-ups it's impossible for me to pick a favourite though.
The two Directors Cut weekends (with Kraftwerk on the Wednesday between) were pretty amazing.
That is awesome. I wonder if anyone of that caliber will be playing in the between week in December
I live in Cornwall, and rather than drive back from Camber, and back again on the Friday, we thought we'd turn it into a bit of a holiday. We went from Pontins to Barcelona for the Kraftwerk gig. Sweet. Nearly killed me tough.
I commend your stamina and insanity. Bet it was worth it though
and the Malkmus / SY / one were the best that I've been to but I'd have loved to have gone to the Autechre one.
But the line up for United Sounds Weekend 1 in 2006 (the first one I went to) was pretty incredible. That said, the Dirty Three weekend the year after had a stupidly good line up as well.
Comets On Fire
Jon Wahl & The Amadans
The Flesh Eaters
Total Sound Group Direct Action Committee
The Blood Brothers
TV On The Radio
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Bat For Lashes
Ramblin' Jack Elliott
The Metallic Falcons
The Watts Prophets
And i didn't even get to go :'''''''(
that Fuck Buttons played.
Mars Volta for sheer variety and awesome selection, Autechre for brilliance. To quote Flavour Flav: "Camber Sands make some Motherf***ing noise!!" Also Coil were mesmeric on the Sunday at the Autechre weekend. My first time seeing Sunn O))) too.
not so great if you wanted a bit of variety like a lot of the other ones had.
was one of the most eclectic yet; loads of variety.
joanna newsom, dinosaur jr, mount eerie, black heart procession, broken social scene, although my overiding memory of the weekend was waiting around for someone good to be on. I look back at the shellac one and weep because I love some of those bands but didn't know that at time so just spent most of the weekend sitting on the boat in the playground, cant believe I could have seen the shipping news. The first one was pretty amazing as well gospeed/mogwai/arab strap/trail of dead (when they were still good/for carnation shame sonic youths badness managed to out weigh all that
John Cooper Clarke
Silver Apples and JCC were terrible(were Battles there?)
Chrome Hoof slaying, Portishead being fucking mindblowing, Thurston Moore, Autolux, Aphex... ace weekend.
So far from those posted it looks like Volta for me! Before I was thinking the Gallo one or the Patton/Melvins one but now I'm swaying towards the Volta one. Saul Williams, Acid Mother Temple, Mad Lib and Les Savy Fav at the same fucking festival!!?
Best line up of any festival I've seen or experienced, is Primavera this year. Sublime.
Yeah it's definitely the Explosions one!!
