I KNEW IT WOULD BE BOB MOULD!
i can't wait. omg omg omg no age du
Anyone want to chuck me a few hundred quid?
Basically, what you are saying is
that I finally get to see Hüsker Dü, with No Age replacing Grant Hart and Greg Norton. That's a very welcome announcement for Friday afternoon. Very welcome indeed.
V. Jealous, even better lineup than the last US fest.
Obviously a stateside festival is always going to attract a much better lineup than the UK ones but that Saturday would probably be my greatest festival lineup ever if I was going. Narrowly followed by the Sunday. Grrrr.
Sweet,
only going on the Sunday but the new additions all look excellent. Will all the bands be doing special sets or just the ones already listed?
extra goodies announced
including Jim Jarmusch presenting Mystery Train, Eric White exhibition, Steve Albini's games room returning and more: http://www.atpfestival.com/Events/ATPNewYork2009/News/0908192157.php
what would Steve Albini think to a game of Ghost Castle?
you ask him
i'll watch.
Some really cool films
although if last year is anything to go by, there will be way too much music & other stuff going on in order to pay many visits to the cinema.
Will it be in the same room, or a bigger one?
Is that where Steve Albini fleeces the fanboys
who are so starstruck that they forget they can't play poker? Bleed them dry Steve!
How big is the site
in comparison to Minehead/Camber? Is it relatively compact or are the venues spaced out?
probably a little smaller than camber site wise
capacity slightly smaller too. better venues. the main stage is probably the best stage of any atp venue.
Both rooms are big enough
to hold everyone, so you never have to worry about not being able to get in (unlike Camber/Minehead).
Cost + $50 to anyone of you darlings who gets a Suicide shirt for me from their ATP merch
What the fuck, I'll probably never see them so something like that off there merch would be highly treasured.

A quick check reveals
that as requested, most of Friday's comedy clashes with the rather dull Iron & Wine. Saturday looks like a bloody marathon.
Such a good line-up
Nicely clash free,
although I'm surprised that Sufjan Stevens is opening up proceedings on the Saturday.
Will the day buses leave pretty promptly at 1am or will they give enough time to allow for over-runs etc?
we'll play it by ear a tiny bit but they will probably
all leave very soon after the headliners. we're pushing the saturday one back to 1:30
jamie
will the boredoms be clashing with the quiz?and will the atp film be clashing with anything?really hope it get's shown in the starlight ballroom.that would be so ace
boredoms will probably clash with the quiz yes.
atp film doesnt clash with anything.

Great read
Barry Hogan: "Killing Joke and the Butthole Surfers will never play ATP again, and they can both suck my balls. And you can put that in print. The Black Lips will never play again—they're assholes."
yeah..
.. I found that bit interesting as well, wonder what they did. Also the DEVO thing confused me a bit seeing as they have just done VS the fans and a don't look back show for ATP. Wonder why they suddenly want more money, or that why ATP aren't willing to pay as much for them now
Yea the Devo thing is abit odd
I remember Jamie slagging off the butthole surfers after NBC too. I can imagine they are wankers; but does make me wonder whether they tipped it over the edge doing something or were just generally twats all weekend.
They started a fight with a DiSer and then took on security as well.
to be more specific gibby haynes
had altercations with about 5 people over the weekend
and they weren't very good either
to make it EVEN WORSE!!1
Yea
I thought they were okay, they didn't live up to my expectations I'd given them though. But there was some pretty shit hot bands on like all of that weekend.
:D
"Vincent Gallo—who I'm happy to shame—put down Christina Aguilera. He wanted to have sex with her."
God bless you Barry.
Vincent Gallo was a right sleazy prick
The Black Lips behaved like cocks as well at the Pitchfork one
.
Some video footage from last year now up on Pitchfork TV, info here:

I just spotted myself
in the Lightning Bolt footage
