D'you reckon 'In a Jar' is a cover of Dinosaur Jr.? Nah, didn't think so.
If that's supposed to be a fox it looks like it's been stuffed then had a lightbulb shoved up its bum.
The song titles are a bit dull though.
Um, uh... I guess this is, uh, the first time there's ever been a, erm, Brand New song title/album title thing...
I like the fox's eyes.
I'm a bit too excited about this.
And it comes out on my birthday!
but I've found the titles elsewhere. They're clearly going for the whole minimalist thing which they did with the titles for the last album - I remember looking at those titles and thinking "that's a bit dull" but of course, the songs were amazing.
I have a feeling this is either going to be a messy, spectacular failure or the best noisy, aggressive indie-rock album of 2009. I'm excited either way.
I like the artwork. Also, have they just typed their name and the album title in Times New Roman over it?
I'm willing to bet the artwork won't feature their name on the front, a la Deja Entendu and TDAG... So they've probably just stuck it on the promotional gear so it's not just a picture of a fox in the woods.
My life has purpose and direction
Do they wilfully release the least 'single' sounding songs on purpose? Sounds fair average on first listen, but I'll still be all over this shit.
I must say, I reckon Lacey seems to have stalled as a lyricist for the last couple of releases...they're not clunkers by any means, but just samey.
and the vocal line does REALLY remind me of Modest Mouse.
especially the single's from "the devil and god". i wouldnt say he's stalled as lyricist, well on the devil and god anyway (i like the way he wrote about the similar subjects but in a more mature kinda way)
haha it makes me laugh how many people have talked about the modest mouse comparison.
my opinion on the song's the same, but I've been listening to Warren Zevon all day and - really - no music or lyric was gonna sound as good afterwards.
