sorry if this is old news
comes across like a complete bellend
"[Interruption for when an underage girl comes up to Matt and asks him to buy cigarettes for her.]
What? [She repeats.] Yeah, after this interview. (Ed. Note: Never happened, alas.)"
"Rob: People who sit around [expletive] typing [expletive] on the Internet all day should be round up and shot.
Matt: I agree.
Dude, that's like, sort of my job.
Rob: Well, you can't fault a man for trying to make a dollar, dude."
i'm going reading the full interview now
when he gets on to Times New Viking. He's like the kissinginkansas of stoner rock.
Washington Post: But you're playing at least one show with Wavves down here.
MW: Three of them, yeah."
i laughed so much at that
about this guy. he's a comedian
'It's just like Wavves if he had some black dudes and a full band.'
i can just see it now: wavves = dandy warhols
psych horseshit = brian jonestown
I once shared several beers with the lead singer from Psychedelic Horseshit. Funny guy. We spent a lot of time dissing Yeasayer who Psychedelic Horseshit were suddenly supporting in the last minute and who frankly were boring our tits off.
He's a proper nice guy.
Having had the pleasure of putting out a Psychedelic Horseshit single and spending some time with Matt, it's safe to say he is a funny man, but also a ranting mentalist too. More often than not, he's a very nice man.
I find it quite entertaining, i think you should believe you are the best at what you do and hate other bands when speaking to the press, just to keep it interesting.
"VV: But your music has a lot in common with Dick Dale, and you've cited the Beach Boys as an influence. How big of an influence is surf rock?
WAVVES: Musically, ...the Beach Boys... I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. I'm really high right now."
They are very appropriately named though. Does Everett True front this band?
