end of thread.
there is definite similarity in both guitar style and vocal inflection.
they don't sound 'just' like them though. especially not now,as they're basically a power ballad band
I see no!
I don't love Television enough, nor do I loathe Razorlight enough to be shocked or outraged by this thread. Must try harder!
Paul Burrell should sue.
if original poster had said Razorlight stole a few tricks from Television, failed to pull them off convincingly and then morphed into a sagging, bloated, plodding conduit for their frontman's heroic fusion of ego and talentlessness, then you would have definitely had a point.
But thanks anyway, you've reminded to listen to Adventure now - a tres underrated album - Dream's Dream... awesome! Check the live version on Spotify
Razorlight want(ed) to sound like Television and some of their first stuff does emulate it a little. By a little i mean Razorlights best moments at very best matching Televisions worst.
But saying they are similar is like saying Kasabian sound like the Fall.

Particularly some of the guitar parts so it's no shock that they have similarities. To be fair the whole 00s British 'indie' sceane was so influenced by some of those proto and post punk bands. They just took those elements and took out the things that made it interesting
