Mine is Now You Are Pregnant, I think. Is their new album good and worth buying?
That's the one.
but I think my favourite is Leave The Scene Behind. I don't have the new album yet, but saw them live recently. All their new songs were the same but more...prog. A lot longer, with (inept) guitar solos!
but i listened to the Pigeon EP recently (it's on Spotify; is it that "green" EP they recordered last year? i dunno) and really enjoyed it. really need to listen to the new one...
There might be another album before the end of the year - I interviewed Dave Tattersall last summer and he said they were preparing an acoustic album (which is what If You Leave It Alone is) and a 'proper' electrified set.
Favourite song? I'm quite partial to Instant Coffee Baby, but Long Island ultimately wins out.
Long Island, Instant Coffee Baby or Strange Fruit For David
Not got the new LP yet, so faves would currently be Leave The Scene Behind, Kiss Me, Strange Fruit, and Puncture My Pride.
Their Springsteen covers album is really cool - comes with a split 7" with Darren Hayman and should still be some copies about.
It was my introduction when someone put it on a tape for me back in The Day, and probably still my favourite. Followed by a couple of other tracks off that album (namely Thrash Metal Paul and More Street, Less T.V.). Yeah yeah, I know, "I prefer the the early stuff" isn't cool anymore. Whatever. Now that this thread makes me think about it, I haven't actually got anything since Sophie anyway...
for me probably, but its a tough choice...i love a whole load of their stuff.
Sophie and Kiss me stand out though
I love you like a madman is my favourite.
instant coffee baby about 'leaving the scene behind'. i think it may be called that come to think of it.
posting as it seems my choice is a lot peops favourite. love this band.
The new album hasn't grabbed me at all, its much more sedate and doesn't have the energy of Instant Coffee Baby
Need to get the new one but haven't gotten round to it yet.
So out of that album, Leave The Scene Behind, Instant Coffee Baby and Strange Fruit are probably my favourites. Great songs.
although subject to change. An older one too, think its called Two Songs Called Louise.
or Avocado Baby
or January and December
or Strange Fruit For David
or Now That You're Pregnant
or any of them basically
but then again. When they played in Reading back in April. The drummer come up front and sang 'Now you are pregnant'. It was beautiful!
Really into this one at the moment
Aye, this one is great. There's a fast electric version of it kicking about, which is good too.
I Thought of You Again
Live in Europe
Beer in the Breakers
I Just Want To Be Your Friend
I Shall Be a Ditchdigger
Now You Are Pregnant
Puncture my Pride
When I Leave You For Somebody Else
And some I'm forgetting. If You Leave it Alone/Susan Rode the Cyclone the best albums, definitely.
i like the lyrics though
Red Wine Teeth
Walk The Back Stairs Quiet
Come Home Tessa Buckman
Leave the Scene Behind
