managed to release a few more tickets for this show:
all seated, all standing or a combination?
what are the stage times please?
(if i have to see the half sisters again i might hurt someone/break things)
although getting last train home is going to be a bit of a pain in the arse...
It was gloriously gorgeous, but way too brief. Very promising for tonight's show.
my first time of seeing them, and I loved it. Think it was mainly stuff from their upcoming album and their last album, but that's okay as I love ...Poison Ivy.
and haha at the Half Sisters comment! We also had the pleasure of seeing them support Shugo Tokumaru. They're a bit strange in that I don't mind (even almost like) some of their songs, even if they're super twee, but the girls themselves annoy the crap out of me. If they'd be quiet in between songs the that'd be better.
Anyway, múm. Excellent. Love the crazy moves from the main girl singer too! Superb band. Good ol' Icelandics.
Would have like some earlier stuff but never mind. Really looking forward to the new album...
Half Sisters were more annoying than words, although the paper airplanes were quite amusing... The nervous giggling was doing my head in.
Tabernacle is a really nice venue and the sound was spot on would definitely go back there....
I'll echo that I would have preferred some earlier stuff, as most of the songs I happened not to know.
How good/weird is The Tabernacle? In the middle of no-where in a residential area... even got SHHHHHHHUSHED by a Bouncer on the way out for talking quietly towards a disco ball. Bar was noice too.
and i really like the new stuff. whats the brand new stuff like? this is gonna sound well indie cliche but i did prefer them with the old singer girl, i used to love her voice it was really breathy (if thats a word) and hypnotic. luckily i saw them several times with the original line up over the years but i would like to see them again none the less, get up to manchester! haha
half-sisters were god awful, but then any band which has members called Freya, Fifi and Isadora are bound to be.
Bit of a shame they didn't play anything pre-Go Go Smear, but the new stuff sounds really good, if a little bit more poppy than anything they've done previously
