Really, really very good-highly addictive stuff!
I don't like the single much, but I'm hearing all these positive things from trustworthy sources, but then one or two people are saying it's rubbish. Is it like a credible dance record or is she one of these popstars that people seem to like but in a sort of ironic way?
But i'm not drawn to it as much as I thought after a couple of listens. At the moment i'm getting the feeling that the press have got in a bit of a tiz over nothing. I might be wrong though, I'll give it some more time.
especially as you regularly post on the DiS forum.
it was shit.
...well ok-ish. I don't mind the singles and 'Bulletproof' gets me jammin' but frankly the whole thing is just a bit samey and get's tiresome after track four or five. It's got an ounce of credible style to it (some parts of songs are worthy 80's retro) but it has no substance whatsoever. It's a shame but if you want this electro-pop done well, go out and buy 'Speak & Spell' or something like that.
Been listening to Florence & The Machine's debut 'Lungs' and I would say that she has produced a far more interesting and substantial peace of work.
If there was a judgment to be made between the three British females seeking to make a mark with credible pop this year (Little Boots, La Roux and Florence & The Machine), I' say Florence has won it hands down.
