I've ignored them for years but picked up a 2cd compilation and they are brilliant.
is Pushin' too Hard but it's a dirrrtty growl of a tune. Didn't the lead singer die recently?
few great Seeds tracks for sure. Pushin too hard off the Nuggets compilation gotta be an obvious standout
they came out with a psychedelic album and then a blues album. All of which have their charms and are worth hearing.
It's all covered on the 2cd "Pushin' Too Hard" cd.
shame to hear about sky saxon passing on. seemed like he was still very much active in making interesting music. 'pushin too hard' is maybe my favourite song of the whole 1960's, but i think the seeds had a great depth of quality songs that many of their 'nuggets' contempories couldn't match. the 'web of sound' and 'the seeds' lp's are both stunners with very little filler. sky saxon also played in the yahowha 13 whose recordings are definitely worth tracking down if you are into free-love-and-salad worshipping cult psych blow-outs.
my friend just recommended them to me yesterday. I'm yet to listen to them but I'm sure I'll be digging them by tomorrow.
I like the Mr Farmer and Can't Seem To Make You Mine best.
I met the singer about a year ago and he was well good, trying it on with all these ultrababes in this club.
