going to Brighton tonight
am reasonably expecting to go mental at it and either pay through the nose for a london touted ticket or go to oxford on monday, seriously my fave band at the moment

Not overly keen on them but they put on a good show I guess. It was just too hot to enjoy.

Saw them in Glasgow on Wednesday night, they were pretty brilliant, slightly wasted and probably the smiliest band I've ever seen, great fun.
Also way too hot there.

a very good show, but OMG it was insanely hot, and I was towards the back, it must have been brutal down at the front!

Animal Kingdom were pretty good as well

I thought they were dull as dishwater and had clearly listened to too much Coldplay, but hey ho, each to their own.
I didn't get there in time to catch An Horse
they just seemed to fit the mood of the evening
or maybe it was the many San Miguels i had which made everything quite good

the upstairs one, last time I was in there was for Rocket From The Crypt in 1995, best gig I've ever been to!
I had tickets
but at the last minute managed to get on the list for Nine Black Alps, which I went for instead (would have happily gone to ruby lounge for SSPs, but couldn't be arsed with the academy- 3 or otherwise).
ruby lounge is awful though, im glad it got moved
unless you get to the front you have about as much chance of seeing the band than if you stayed home. they need to sort that out!
I have jaggy elbows though,
I always get to the front! Such an old-woman type moan, but I find the lack of ventilation in the academy 3 ruins any enjoyment for me (possible exception being the Dan Auerbach gig, where I was too busy spontaneously orgasming to notice the heat).

i knwo what you mean about the academy 3 ventilation, this was in academy 2 (which is just as bad) and the heat was unbearable! i want your jaggy elbows :( haha
