Sebadoh
Yeah, they are great.
What's your favourite? I like Bake Sale. And Jason's songs off Bubble & Scrape.
III
that's the main one i've listened to and got into the most.
Better than Dinosaur Jr?
I find Sebadoh's stuff easier to get into and a bit more enjoyable. Depends what you're looking for, I suppose.
I don't think they sound that similar really
but both are obviously brilliant. I like both for different reasons, and as you say, like what mood you're in.
controversial but
the sebadoh is my favourite album by them. it just sounds a bit more full and the tunes are really good. flame is amazing.
S. Soup and Not Too Amused are two of my favourite songs ever
^
not too amused is the first thing i play when i pick up the guitar. i'd have to add happily divided, dramamine, notsur dnoura selcric and anything else jason lowenstein has written to that list.
i only have bakesale
and REALLY like license to confuse and the ones jason lowenstein did (and think the rest is okay). WHAT SHOULD I DO??? in terms of next albums and that, obviously.
ranked thusly:
III & Bubble & Scrape
Smash Your Head/Vs Helmet & Harmacy
Freed Weed/Freed Man, The Sebadoh
I was gonna start a thread on Loewenstein the other day, but forgot to.
So I'll just slip this in here. Anyway, I find it odd how most of my favourite Sebadoh songs were written by Jason Loewenstein - like 'Prince-S', 'Drama Mine', 'Happily Divided', 'Sister', 'Sixteen', 'Not Too Amused', etc. - but when I listened to his solo album I found it... not that good, kinda boring. Logic would assume that his solo album would be the best album Sebadoh never made, but it's not. Weird, huh?
NO
the only thing worse than weiner 80's bands are those bullshit 90's bands. Of which Sebadoh is one.
Never understood the love for them personally.
