Need to help a neighbour out with what I can only describe as slightly questionable fashion shizz, like neon printed t-shirts... not seen anything other than that to be able to get a feel for it. It's this Saturday and I only have tomorrow and Friday night to sort stuff out for him as I'm out and stuff.
He's talking old-skool (bleurgh) rave, but the rave stuff I have from the 90s is not really hardcore enough imo so I'm turning to electro goodness/other stuff with strut-worthy beats for inspiration instead (+, get with the times man!).
Bear in mind I need to track down these tracks and somehow master them into suitable lengths for a 15 minute catwalk show too (not a freakin' scooby on how to operate this mac either! yay funtimes!). I'm not even going to be there or have time to look at his collection, which isn't too helpful. He's an absolute sweetheart though and well worthy of helping.
I've got lots of Kitsun Maison and the like; but what is good and recent otherwise? So far I have the grand total of the following pathetic number of tracks that I can think of to offer him (beats being important obvs):
Aphex twin, windowlicker
Leftfield, afrika shox
Vitalic, my friend dario
Death in vegas, hands around my throat (maybe a remix?)
Goldfrapp, strict machine
Chemical brothers, galvanise
Adult, gimme trouble
DJ shadow, mongrel meets his maker
all of which are basically just a few of my faves. Can you give me anything to add please? If you can post immediate youtube/last.fm links to your recommended track it would help me a shedload and I will buy you a pint at some point. THANK YOU! X
