Or at least those you'd guess would be exciting.
I meant as a general discussion. Wild Beasts, Mew, Why?, those sort.
Well I'm very curious to hear what Jamie T has made and i'm *hopefully* taking delivery of Wild Beasts 2 tomorrow.
finally hearing an album from Revere (http://www.myspace.com/reverelondon), it's been a long time coming and should be out this year, think it just needs to be mixed now :-)
not huge expectations, but definitely interested considering strength of recent single.
from Alexander Tucker and Daniel O’Sullivan, called Grumbling Furs. They have a record out (called the furrier) later on this year.
And the new Kong record, which should be awesssomeee.
They were really good with Sunn O))) at Corsica Studios, I'd be keen to pick that one up. I think a new Mothlite album's in the works too, should be good.
Other than that I'm quite looking forward to the new Acoustic Ladyland album next month, and the Shrinebuilder album, which I think is set for release in near the end of the year. There's probably a few other things I've forgotten about too.
as far as I can see and Aurora Borealis don't seem to be saying much but hopefully it shouldn't be too long.
The Fiery Furnaces, Mew, The Twilight Sad (loved their debut, hope this cements them as one of the best British bands around), Yo La Tengo - all ones I'm especially looking forward to. I'm curious to hear the new Vivian Girls and Islands records too.
Go to their site, pre-order the cd and you can download MP3s of it
but it doesnt get officially released til october
First single was great.
Slightly more melodic direction? Not if the ATP set was anything to go by.
Is there a date for it yet?
Really love it when noise bands sell out. Could be this years Mae Shi or Parts & Labor.
I'd like to hear the new Flaming Lips and Frank Turner albums.
I can't imagine either being especially earthshattering so I'm pegging my hopes on discovering something that will sneak up and surprise me like Jason Lytle's album.
It looks exciting.
Discovery as well, the Vampire Weekend/Ra Ra Riot autotune rnb side project. The four tracks they have streaming on their website are glorious.
bowerbirds! such an amazing record
Quite eager to hear this.
I suspect Felix Da Housecat & Basement Jaxx have had their days (though both debuts are almost perfect).
I reckon good records could be released by:
Mos Def, Fiery Furnaces (just for the sound of the fan's version of the record), Amerie, Holy Fuck (this year?), Anti-Pop Consortium, Yo La Tengo... erm... that's it?
I'm looking forward to their fan-version rerecorded album thinger, mainly because the album itself is pretty unforgiveably dull, on the evidence of a couple of listens.
Also eagerly awaiting new Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan, Far and Glassjaw but it's looking like they might all appear in 2010 instead
six organs of admittance
yo la tengo
are basically what i'm wetting myself about at the moment.
maybe blonde redhead? it's about time surely..
Glassjaw will never release another album
they just did a myspace blog post
Silkie - City Limits Vol.1 [Deep Medi]
Deep Medi Compilation
King Midas Sound
Hudson Mohawk (I think?)
Legion of Two - Riffs [Planet Mu]
I'm very excited about Silkie's album, I think its coming in the next few weeks or so. Amazing future soul infused dance music, its almost like the Detroit techno sound but of London and ummm not techno. Hyperdub are always exciting and they have 6 albums on the way this year apparently. I sware HudMo is working on an album for Warp but I'm not sure that should be good. Riffs by Legion of Two is a cracker I've had it for a while now, its a nice mix of noisey electronica and live druming, so it has this ace sounding live rock feel to it but with loads of mad electronics on top of it. I think Trim's album is due by the end of the year as well as another mixtape, but who knows its grime after all things just come when they come.
Otherwise looking forward to Twilight Sad, Jonquil and Clientele
Debut album out on Monday, bout bloody time!
A bunch of the songs have already been released though, which is annoying
Members of OM/Sleep/StVitus/Neurosis/Melvins oh man I hope it doesn't suck. Also Jay Reatard might be good.
sounds like it could be a good one.
have a new one due in the fall. That, The Twilight Sad and Let's Wrestle are the only ones I know of that I'm excited for. There are always plenty of surprises along the way though.
Oh, and Paul Banks' Julian Plenti release.
he twilight Sad
Yo La Tengo
Burial/Four Tet or just a solo album from both would be nice, the latter wont happen for a while though.
Mission of Burma
their new album is very nice
Amiina have an EP out soon as well
out next month
her name is calla ?
i think this is all me just wishing rather than anything else ...

Final Fantasy's Heartland - judging from the gigs last month, Owen's really pushed is songwriting...
Lil Wayne - Rebirth
Its probibly going to be a car crash but I cant wait to hear it.
Dizzee Rascal - Tongue N Cheek
Worth a listen no doubt.
Clipse – Till The Casket Drops
