Your favourite 90s indie one hit wonder!?!
I think mine has to be:
Spacehog - In the Meantime
:D
Note: This band may not have been a one hit wonder to you but they were to me.

Don't know if he's indie....probably about as indie as Spacehog i guess....
but this is who I'm going with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLUtxf4AB1Q
Cracker - Low
if that can be called Indie.
Planet Love by The Dylans
Ok, it wasn't exactly a hit but meh...
Also love Flowered Up who managed three (It's On by far the best...yes, even better than Weekender) and
Will also nominate Human Nature by Gary Clail On-U Sound System.
powder - afrodisiac
whale - hobo humpin slobo babe (or sumfink like that)
and re: spacehog
that pretty much was their only hit in the uk, but they were quite big in america weren't they?
New Radicals
YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU GIVE
this
a million times over
yes
i came on here to say this one
yes yes yes
though the album had some other pretty great songs on it too
Not indie but...
OMC - How Bizarre
How bizarre, how bizarre.
not sure why this replied in the wrong place
I loved this!
The La's ?
Jesus Jones
The La's, definitely
but Jesus Jones had quite a few hits from Doubt (International Bright Young Thing, Right Here Right Now, Real Real Real), and even Liquidizer spawned one hit (Infro Freako).
My pick: Northside -- Shall We Take A Trip
Northside?
What about 'take 5'?
actually,
I vaguely remember that one, too.
Gigolo Aunts - Where I Find My Heaven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piaz19SY6aM
Len - Steal My Sunshine
4 Non Blondes - What's Going On? -in fact, I pretty much liked that whole record.
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffanys
Bit cheesy but what a tune!
Absolutely!
'Peaches' by Presidents of United States of America
I still fucking love that song.
Do they count as a one hit wonder? What about...
"She's LUMP, she's LUMP, she's LUMP, she's in my head!"
Was that a hit? I remember dancing round the kitchen to it when I was littleish.
Or is it one of those songs which was the follow up to the one-hit wonder which did OK but wasn't exactly a hit, and so no one ever cared about anything else they released?
In any case, awesome song.
Lump came out first
but I think Peaches was their top ten hit. Both top songs from a great feel good album. I think I might blast it out a bit this summer, it's been a while.
Len, obvs
Bran Van 3000 not that close a second.
great shout on bran van
WHITE TOWN
Your Woman.
This is the absolute correct answer
Good call!
Sneaker Pimps
6 Underground
Moist - 'Push'

Stiltskin
-Inside
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuTVKO0RScI
Fat man starts to fall indeed.
Is it wrong that I really really really love this song?!
Additionally, it kicked off my love of Levi's 501 that continues to this day/
It's pretty fucking rocking song
when you're 12 years old, now it just seems like a British band trying to cash in on the Seattle sound or something
Fuel - Shimmer
Collective Soul - Shine
Cool for August - Don't Wanna Be Here
(yeah none of these are indie i know, just great one hit nu-grunge wonders of the 90s)
Marcy Playground
Not necessarily "indie" but definitely a one hit wonder with "Sex and Candy." I couldn't even tell you why I like it.
bloody love that song
of course in retrospect it sounds suspiciously like that jack johnson doesn't it?
New Radicals without a doubt.
That song is FUCKING PERFECT. A resounding meh for the rest of their only album.
i actually liked a few tracks off it
when it came out, can't remember what they were though - wasn't the first track a bit of a belter?
Yes it was
Mother, We Just Can't Get Enough. Bit of a Stonesy rocker.
If memory serves, other highlights included Jehovah Built This Whole Joint For You, Someday We'll Know and Crying Like A Church on Monday.
They could have been massive, I think, but instead the lead singer dude announced he hated the record industry, split the band and started writing songs for Ronan Keating instead. Think he wrote Murder on the Dancefloor for Sophie Ellis Bextor too.
scarlet - independent love song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7dyXfHcYw8
Love Your Money - Daisy Chainsaw
of course
Nice
:D
'in the meantime' is a bloody great song.
dodgy - in a room
harvey danger - flagpole sitta!!
Dodgy
I'm pretty sure they had a few 'hits' didn't they?
Good call with Harvey Danger though. I suddenly feel the need to watch American Pie.
The Connels - 74/75
Tuuuuuune!!
New Radicals - You Only Get What You Give
Good call,I'm gonna have to hunt that track down. What about this then? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NgLV056kB0&feature=related not so good live, but a classic 90's tune.
