Go on then! What do you want him to play? Looks like he is going to have a two and a half hour set.
Born to run
Dancing in the Dark
Tenth Avenue Freeze Out
I'll be happy.
but it'll be interesting to see how he manages to throw an hour's worth of material off his setlist and see whether it's seen as a much better or much worse set..
Thunder Road halfway through, and Born To Run at the end of the main set. Dancing In The Dark will probs be the last thing they play in the encore. Tenth Av. is widely regarded as the 'E-Street Band anthem' and could be dropped in anywhere....
All we do know for certain is that they'll open with 'Badlands', finish the main set with 'Born To Run', and play 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad' around halfway through. If you want to hear a particular song I recommend you make a big fuck-off sign and get yourself down the front with it - they normally take 3 or 4 crowd requests in this way at each show.
Hasnt been played on this tour unfortunatly- Seeds and Johnny 99 are other reccuring songs.
And at a couple of Scandinavian dates last week.
other people check his setlists too!
My knowledge of this subject has become pathetically comprehensive by this point.
All the hype about how the Eavis's made up a pack about Glastonbury for him and his manager to snare him because they hadn't heard of it - how THE FUCK has a man who has been been touring the world for 30 years, and a man whose job it is to know the music industry, between them had never heard of the biggest festival in Europe? Stunning ignorance.
It reminds me of that scene from Flight of The Conchords:
'R.Kelly said he wants to guest on your next album'
'Really? R. Kelly?'
'Yep. Should I find out who he is?'
His agent/manager hadnt. Apparantly Joe Strummer told Springsteen about how good Glastonbury was.
I'm on fire
and if he does its the acoustic version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7XLeYMUZY4
I don't buy it for a second though - Eavis being senile maybe? I mean...c'mon....it's GLASTONBURY!
it was for his manager, nobody ever said Springsteen personally didn't know
I'd basically like to hear everything on born to run, darkness on the edge of town and born in the USA. but especially Jungleland and Tenth Avenue.
This Hard Land
Lost in the Flood
Walk Like a Man
Blinded by the Light
Living in the Future
Last to Die
Racing in the Street
Tougher Than the Rest
Ties That Bind
Born to Run
Darkness on the Edge of Town
Incident on 57th Street
or something. so long as he keeps the number of songs from the new album down to a minimum he can't go wrong
Sounds pretty perfect! If you added Bobby Jean too. Livin in the Future is brilliant! Would also like Atlantic City but he hasnt really been playing it on this tour so far...
Really hope he plays it. I loved that whole album actually, but I'm not expecting a Magic-heavy set.
It really annoys me that we'll most likely hear 'Outlaw Pete' at the expense of 'Atlantic City', 'The River', 'Brilliant Disguise' etc... :-(
Will looking at the setlists spoil it for me or do they get mixed up completely..?
They do get quite mixed up but theres about 7 or 8 songs that are generally pretty standard!
