Mouthus - Loam
Pretty essential noise rock record?
I love the contrast between mellow backing and really screwed up guitar on track 2.
Have they ever bettered this?

I don't think they have
but I think Yellow Swans have :)
I'm not sure who I prefer out of those two bands
I'm a big fan of both.
The guitar is more prominent on Mouthus. And more derranged.
Have you got the Ex-Cocaine/Yellow Swans split? That's a great record. The track that got me into Yellow Swans in the first place.
Two bands I'd love to see live.
I've missed one. When are Mouthus gonna come over our way?
I definitely prefer Yellow Swans and I'm gutted that they are splitting
I've got the Mouthus/Yellow Swans collab record but I don't think it does justice to either band really.
I'll check out the ex-cocaine split you recommended. Ta for that.
Noise Collaborations
It's funny how a lot of noise bands collaborations don't ever seem to do either band justice. The Black Dice and Wolf Eyes one was pretty disappointing I thought.
The album just gets better and better with repeated listens too
I listened to it at least 3 times yesterday, and have started the day with it again today.
