Oneida - Anthem of the Moon
Teh DIrtbombs - Ultraglide in Black
Basically anything works for me though. I'm going to do a race without music soon and I dunno how its going to go because I can't seem to do it properly without music
Animal Collectives latest, GGD - Saint Dymphna always work for me
I'd also recommend Lindstrom - Where You Go I Go Too, and lots of techno. Nathan Fake's new album is great for pushing for that extra couple of k's.
Reign In Blood.
broken social scene - broken social scene
merriwether post pavillion - animal collective
have all given me enjoyable runs
you'll run and run and run and run and run and run and...
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Arcade Fire - Keep the car running
Snow Patrol - Run
Leona Lewis - Run
Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free
nike+ mixes are all decent if you're looking for something to keep pace to and warm up/warm down...
but otherwise, since you've been gone by kelly clarkston. on repeat.
is a pun on R-U-N (good job Nike suits) is especially good
1st album...perfect for 10k runs
I fall over a lot.
you make me dreams come true.
trust me, perfect tempo :D
I find Cut Copy works quite well also, actually, a lot of stuff in the DFA axis.
TO DEAD FOR ME :D
ATARI TEENAGE RIOT!!! Go! Go! Go! Go!...
Yeah that would work for me, might try that next time I go running.
Also - Working For A Nuclear Free City.
In the same vein intelligence and sacrifice is great album by the masterful Alec Empire. Perfect for fast movement. I saw him play it out at reading festival a good few years ago.
Get some 60s and 70s Motown, funk and soul down you.
and Circa Survive work for me.
45:33, The Field's entire back catalogue
Maybe Gui Boratto
seems to work for me.
Super Roots 7. Actually anything with a Motorik beat is great; make a playlist of old Can and Neu! albums.
I go out to techno mixes loads too; this guy posts up loads of good live mixes - http://twitter.com/universaltechno - some of the old Dave Clarke/Jeff Mills/Richie Hawtin mixes are stellar. I did used to like minimal but it's a little too subtle for out on the road.
seems to do me.
LCD Soundsystem - Us vs Them
M.I.A. - Bamboo Banga
Wilco - Spiders (Kidsmoke)
Interpol - Not Even Jail
Secret Machines - The Road Leads Where It's Led
Neon Neon - Raquel
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero
TOVTR - Wolf Like Me
BSP - How Will I Ever Find My Way Back Home?
in particular but the whole Astro Creep album would probably do it.
How about "the loneliness of the long distance runner" by Iron Maiden?
I always used to run to Kerosene back in the days when I used a treadmill.
There's something about the insistent unforgiving beat of the drum machine that keeps pushing you forwards.
I'm a walker, it's less harsh on the knees! I walk about 7 miles over the week. It's not massive amounts but it keeps me from turning into a whale.
Just because of the good beats!
work really well for me. Good beat but nice and relaxed so you don't get all frantic. I can't imagine listening to fast music when running.
...I've just entered a half-marathon and was about to start a thread entitled "music to go running to..." ah you beat me to it, rocknroll!
For me its got be something mesmerising yet still with an edge, so TV on the Radio do it for me, plus "Merriweather Post Pavillion".
And if we're in pun territory..
Animal Collective: No more runnin
Velvet Underground: Run run run
Cake: The Distance
anything by run dmc
Have also ran to the last Marnie Stern cd which works well, especially if you see the last video she did
pivot - o soundtrack my heart
maximo park - our velocity
young knives - turn tail
yeah yeah yeahs - zero
manics - faster
