Ouch, intense... DiScuss.
It's so quiet and yet so completely brutal.
The Plan might be the most beautiful song ever.
it's just epic.
for me. Or possibly Anon.
Too many strong candidates, though.
And one of the finest by anyone.
Quiet yet brutal sums it up perfectly.
as i've just started to really get into Low in the past week or so!
from what i've heard it's stunning.
and yeah you should definitely buy it.
the most consistent Low album. This and 'Secret Name'.
Is this something I need in my life? Better than the album I have?
But it is a great album, especially The Plan. And you can't go wrong with more Low albums, whichever ones they are. You might be better trying something like Secret Name first though.
Do You Know How to Waltz - 15 minutes of perfection.
(it's I could live in Hope, in my top3 favourite albums ever)
but still a brilliant album.
There were so magical live around that time...
Totally blown away by this song. Reminds me a bit of 'The Diamond Sea' by Sonic youth, ending the album with an extended wig out that remains centred in a beautiful song.
only briefly but I mentioned it.
damn my skim reading skills (lack of)
Helsabot nailed it. There's something very heavy about the whole record, like it's on the verge of violence. Strange but compelling.
been years since I've listened. might dig it out tonight...
this and 'things we lost in the fire' off ebay together for less than £9.
Buy them all - every Low album has redeeming qualities. How they've written such a large catalogue of great songs is truly impressive and yes, awe-inspiring.
You NEED I could live in Hope if you're looking for the next one to get.
'I could live in hope' is an essential Low album.
The lyrics to the song 'Rope' from that album ought to tempt you to get it:-
'You're gonna need more
Don't ask me to kick any chairs out from under you'
Because You Stood Still is fantastic.
awesome covers of Open Arms, Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved me among more.
and great alternative versions of The Plan, Joan Of Arc etc
