You didn't like Godflesh then???
People have been complaining about this?
What possible reason could you have for complaining about a musical artistic choice like that?
Drummers union I reckon.
as they were obviously devoted fans and would have turned up to watch justin broadrick just stand on stage being very nice, cute and painfully sincere.
But at Primavera there was a lot of moaning about this and the fact of there being no 'stage presence'. I like the new drummerless mvoe, it's so much more like Godflesh!
but I find it hard to imagine they had no stage presence.
Reactionary, knee-jerk idiots! "Got to have a guitarist, singer, bassist and drummer cos that's what Cast had.... Duh, duh, duh"
half of their material is programmed stuff anyway, heartache/silver/lifeline (probably some of the splits too) were all or mostly done just by jkb... and godflesh were mostly programmed. drum machines rule.
oh, and i think he lives near me.. gonna have to track him down one of these days.
the layers and textures are just too damn complex for you not to expect to enjoy jesu live with some programmed beats.
is the distinct lack of GC Green
It was very good indeed. He is better than a drum machine
More concerned with the vocals, which were pretty poor.
thankfully everything else drowned him out when I saw him. Well one time. The other time the vocals were really loud :(
but at primavera I could actually hear him sing and it was utter dog-shit, i mean he must know he can't sing? Or what about that other bassist on stage with him, maybe he doesn't have the heart to tell him how bad he is. I like him on record but after primavera he's gone down in my estimations significantly.
JB barking = much, much better than JB singing.
but on record I think some of his vocals are fab! What about 'Silver'?
