Thats quite a nice mix really, my personal faves in there are Chickenhawk and Cowtown.
Kendal Mint Cake is from Kendal. That's all.
Plus she's more scrummy than a mint cake.
I thought they were from the Lake District?
I dunno. My housemate saw hayden outside waterstones at the weekend, apparently he looked well pissed off.
She be good.
picked up on loads of great stuff, but obviously missed a fair bit, but that's always going to be the case with something like that. Chickenhawk are ace. I'd definitely be including Castrovalva, love that band.
they remind me of Copy Haho
Alt Track are pretty good.
Vessels, Glissando, worriedaboutsatan or Sky Larkin? Oh yeah, NME's bobbins
Where are they? EH?
same goes for Pulled Apart By Horses I assume.
Rather than *new* bands, the title suggests. Most of these aren't new. Last time I did a similar article in the magazine (about a year ago) I think I covered about half of those...
and pulled apart by horses haven't even done an album.
utterly awesome doom band. Have been playing Acid Reaper for about a year and still not bored of it.
And I thought Grammatics were from York!
even if there are some notable exceptions Quack Quack, Chops and Castrolavalva but yeah, I like.
Sunshine Underground are brilliant - new stuff also sounds ace. Old Romantic Killer Band and i Concur definitely worth a nod too. Aren't Heads We Dance from Leeds? Just a shame This Et Al and Forward Russia aren't around any more.
shame I Concur not there. But the LP can't be far away, surely? Surely?
Sloth meets Mick Hucknall?
One of the pigeon defectives, isnt it?
Punk's Dead; Enter: Prog All-dayer features a few up and coming leeds bands.
Khuda, Trampled Under Hoof, Citadel, Hog Island Boas.
