so far i've heard diane and hardly getting over it and i like.
which tend to, um, divide opinion. i really like candy apple grey but even i don't think it's as good as the three on SST that preceeded it (zen arcade, new day rising and flip your wig).
That and Candy Apple Grey are my two favourites, if pushed. I love them hard though. Gonna listen to Metal Circus now....
best album to start off with then? zen arcade?
it's generally considered their peak - i'm not sure i wholey agree (their pop nous is more on display on New Day Rising, and that works more for me) but it's indisputably an incredible piece of work.
Great band, probably my favourite of the Our Band Could Be Your Life (you should really read that book), except maybe Mission of Burma....
From the albums on spotify, go for Candy Apple Grey. Don't Want To Know If You're Lonely is incredible.
Erm, I could do you a best of with mp3s and send you a download link. If that's not creepy, I guess.
i think it was a mix you did that had diane on anyway? it just clicked with me the other day. so yeah if it's not too much trouble go ahead! i do want to read that azerrad book, it's on my amazon wishlist, rubbish december birthday though.
Ace! I thought I'd looked like a nutter or sth. Nevermind.
The Azerrad book is ace. Well worth treating yourself to.
I'll sling something together tomorrow and pm you a zshare link or whatever.
the songs are listed in my itunes by their actual album title rather than 'lbc mix' or something so it never got listened to as a whole playlist, oh dear.
