"I know what you think, you think this film is about you!"
:) Can't wait.
safe and sound is what i'm looking forward to most. wonder if they'll play the new album first? Could risk people leaving if they play if after HIS ... I think it'll be interesting hearing some new stuff.
with shouts of "where's my album" on my behalf.
I'm jealous, incidentally.
he said he thinks they're in the Czech Republic.
Post-Elctric Blues first. I'd stake a reasonable amount of money on them doing W/P before 100 Broken Windows tomorrow and Make Another World before The Remote Part on Thursday as well.
It's going to be great, all three nights. The songs I'm most looking forward to: I'm Happy To Be Here Tonight, Lowlight, The Space Between All Things, Actually It's Darkness, Finished It Remains, Out Of Routine, and (hopefully) Self Healer and Annihilate Now!
Still not sure on the new album's name -- hope it sits nicely in the idlewild canon though. Did anyone watch the little video clips on the members' site - Readers Writers sounded really good.
I hope they do W/P acoustic - it seems to work a lot better like that. Can't wait to hear Idea Track and The Bronze Medal ...
I didn't get tickets for tomorrow. The other two'll be good fun though.
the new stuff was a bit meh.
But Hope Is Importawas stunning. Great crowd.
Plus we got Satan Polaroid and Captain. :D
new album's ok - some good tracks but a few that sound like they might be duds.
Hope is Important stunning and Satan Polaroid :)
or did they do the new 1 first?
which was a bit of a relief. It wasn't THAT bad. There were a couple of livelier songs towards the end of the album.
The only thing that bothered me was that Roddy looked slightly embarrassed throughout Hope Is Important, as if to say "I can't believe you guys love this stuff so much". I'd say the rest of the band looked like they enjoyed playing it more though.
It's hard to tell if it was any good on first listen.I imagine it'll sound really different recorded - but there was about 4 songs that really stood out. One was piano based. The second song sounded like it could be a 'hit' if it got a proper release.
HIS was awesomne.
I broke my foot (Metertarsal) at the Idlewild show last night. Which means I'm missing tonights and tomorrow although I've got tickets. :(
The new album seemed to get better as it went along, and HII was great although Roddy seemed a bit disinterested. Those views might have been slighly obscured by me standing on a broken foot for two hours.
I only found out today it was broken by finally admitting defeat and going the hospital, I bet 100BW was great tonight.
