Does anyone care anymore? I hope they dont reform properly
if not, meh.
i dont know whether they could capture the energy of 5 or 6 years ago. Plus they have, in part, been indirectly resposible for many of the shit 'indie' bands like Little man Tate, The View etc.
Stephen Street and Graham Coxon together still had major difficulties. Could be good, but I don't see how they wouldn't fuck it up unfortunately.
are a smashing little pop band to be fair. Id love to go and see them if they did reform.Never got the chance first time round.
But the chances are that it will be shit.
God knows if they have enough good music left in them to write a new record though
Agree they're pretty much of their time, the act is a bit tired. They'd get some sweet cash-in at the start but people would soon lose interest and they'd turn into one of those nostalgia acts like Shed Seven and The Stranglers irrelevent and stuck in a different time zone.
Libs weren't even good at the time. Got two decent songs and the rest is just as good as all of the 'shit indie' bands they inspire. No wonder pigeon detectives and kooks etc. came about. They're probably my most hated band.
They're awful. Time For Heroes and Don't Look Back Into The Sun are alright, every single other song they've released is complete shit.
not sure about what kind of new tunes they would write, though.
i am actually wearing my libertines shirt today. hooray.
I'd dress in exactly the same clothes i had on rotation 5 years ago for the full effect.
I think hwat was so brilliant about them the first time round was that they were something of a revolution. I love them and I think they'd have a really successful reunion (in terms of popularity and financially), but it might not feel the same. Pete and carl both seem to have their Arcadian spirit intact, and whilst Gary would join them I don't think John would.
I was lucky enough to see them at T In The Park in 2004 but I'd love to see them in a small venue.
